In January, as spring arrives, the land and sky of Phu Tho bloom with new life, villages are adorned in fresh colors, and the people’s hearts are filled with joy as the music and sounds of drums call everyone to celebrate. Just like other regions across the country, Phu Tho is bustling with Spring festivals, inviting visitors from near and far to come and pay their respects, explore, and experience the unique cultural heritage of this ancestral land, the birthplace of the Vietnamese nation. They wish for a prosperous new year, good health, abundant harvests, and happiness for all.
Among the nearly 260 festivals held annually in Phu Tho, almost 150 of them take place in January, attracting thousands of visitors who come to experience the springtime festivities in the region.
The Au Co Mother Temple Festival (Hien Luong Commune, Ha Hoa District) is the “opening event” for the series of Spring festivals in the Land of the Ancestors.
Dressed in ceremonial attire, the people of Di Nau Village hold a procession to bring the Cao Son Saint to the Quoc Te Temple (Di Nau Commune, Tam Nong District).

Along with the people of Minh Nong Ward, Viet Tri City, the Festival of “Hung Kings Teach Rice Planting” is celebrated.
In the echo of gongs resounding through the land, the people of Dong Trung Commune, Thanh Thuy District, open the Lang Suong Temple Festival.
The people and visitors joyfully partake in the Land of the Ancestors Festival.
The “Hundred Arts on Display” or “Four Professions of the People” performance is presented by locals from various regions in the province during the early-year festivals.
