Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir has long been a favorite destination for tourists, admired for both its engineering significance and majestic natural beauty. Recently, the Phu Tho Electronic Newspaper captured stunning images of the reservoir as it opened its bottom discharge gate to ensure safety during the rainy and flood season.

From July 9, the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant began discharging water through a bottom gate to maintain the safety of the facility and regulate water levels in accordance with standard operating procedures.

A group of young travelers rides motorbikes from Hanoi to Phu Tho to witness the reservoir’s discharge.

Over the weekend, the number of visitors increased. At the entrance to the plant, guests were guided through ticket purchases and required to submit personal information.

The rushing white foam of the released water creates a dramatic and awe-inspiring sight.

To ensure public safety, warning signs were installed at key points, and on-site personnel were stationed to remind visitors of safety protocols.

According to Hoa Binh Hydropower Company, the total volume of water discharged downstream is expected to reach approximately 3,900 cubic meters per second. The downstream water level is forecast to rise to about 13.5 meters following the discharge.

Downstream water levels have risen since one bottom gate was opened.

Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant continues to attract visitors with its unique blend of scenic beauty and historical importance.
