On April 2 and 3, Muong Hoa Commune held its 2026 Cultural Festival and Chua Ke Festival, featuring a series of traditional and community activities.

Unique art performances imbued with national cultural identity at the festival.
The Chua Ke Festival consists of two main parts: the ceremonial rituals and the festive activities. The ceremonies include rituals dedicated to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Quan Am Bo Tat) along with legendary figures: Ong Quan Danh, Ba Quan Dang, Ong Ba Lang, and Ba Ba Lap, followed by a ritual conducted by a shaman at the temple. The festive part includes a cultural and culinary space exhibition, men’s volleyball, women’s air volleyball, crossbow shooting, traditional swimming, and “hat doi” (alternate singing).

A Muong gong performance featuring 250 artisans and performers from various hamlets across the commune.
The event also offers a variety of engaging and meaningful activities, such as a Muong gong art performance involving 250 artisans and actors, exhibitions of typical agricultural and handicraft products of Muong Hoa Commune, cultural exchanges, job counseling, and various traditional folk games.

A large number of people attending the festival.
The 2026 Muong Hoa Cultural Festival and Chua Ke Festival aim to promote Vietnam’s advanced culture while preserving national identity in general, and the specific Muong culture of Muong Hoa Commune in particular. Furthermore, the event fosters national solidarity and contributes to local socio-economic development. It is also an activity to celebrate the success of the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Lively sports exchange activities took place during the event.
The festival serves as a key step in implementing the goals and solutions of the “Scheme for Preserving and Promoting the Values of Muong Ethnic Culture and the Hoa Binh Culture” for the 2023-2030 period. Simultaneously, it enhances national pride and encourages citizens to actively participate in labor and production while introducing the traditional cultural beauty of the Muong people and the broader local community to domestic and international tourists.
