From December 20 to 21, the Van Son Commune Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival took place in a bustling and festive atmosphere. Tens of thousands of visitors from across the country flocked to “Thung May” (Cloud Valley) to discover its stunning natural landscapes and experience unique cultural, sporting, and tourism activities. This annual “meeting point” serves as a captivating attraction, showcasing the potential and strengths of this high-altitude cultural and tourism destination.

The festival opened with the deep, resonant echoes of a Muong Gong performance, featuring 250 artisans from local villages and hamlets performing at this highland celebration.

Meticulously choreographed artistic performances served as a warm welcome to visitors.

On the main stage, artisans gathered for a folk singing duel, a traditional art form of the Muong people that held the audience in a spellbound silence.

A large number of locals and tourists enthusiastically participated in the Muong folk singing festival.

They witnessed a weaving competition between male farmers.

A battle requiring both intelligence and strength took place between athletes in the stick-pushing competition.
A demonstration of "danh mang" – a unique Muong ethnic sport – was presented at the Van Son Highland Festival.
Locals and tourists had exciting experiences participating in the folk game of stilt walking.

They visited the exhibition camp and enjoyed traditional Muong cuisine.
This was also an opportunity to introduce and promote the local socio-economic potential and strengths.
Tourists visited and shopped at the unique local agricultural "market."
