Many young people today have made significant contributions to disseminating and promoting the culture and tourism of the Ancestral Land via many civilizations, carrying on the purpose of inheriting, maintaining, and promoting cultural values. They are progressively becoming “amateur” cultural and tourist “messengers” in their own nation, thanks to social networking sites like as Tiktok, Youtube, and Facebook.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, a young highland girl from Thanh Son district, is not only renowned as the Director of Truong Foods Production and Trading Joint Stock Company, but she is also helping to the propagation of cultural values and the unique food of the Ancestral Land area via Tiktok channel "Sour Meat Flower."
Hoa, who has a Tiktok channel with approximately 4,000 followers and 2.1 million likes, has used her personal page to upload short video made in various locations in the province, including: Hung King Temple, Xoan Singing, Long Coc tea hill, traditional craft villages... She carefully explains and expresses the distinctive and appealing qualities of each location she visits, each stop she makes along the way. From the midlands to the highlands, the plot focuses on the lifestyles, everyday routines, and productive labor of people. The submitted recordings have developed their own distinct features and drawn numerous pleasant interactions; on average, each video gets tens to hundreds of thousands of views.
Xoan Singing is introduced on Hoa’s Tiktok channel.
Sharing the same aim of conserving and fostering national cultural identity, teacher Ha Anh Phuong of Huong Can High School in Thanh Son district is still recognized in modern times for her “borderless” courses and classes gender.“Along with technology and creativity in teaching and learning, teacher Phuong accompanied pupils in the hilly area on a”travel" across the world, learning and sharing cultures and languages from many nations intuitively and vividly. Huong Can High School students can connect and talk with overseas students in a cross-border learning environment in English via the internet utilizing Zoom and Skype programs under her supervision and instruction.
Ms. Phuong previously stated, "Our students are no longer limited to the four walls of the classroom, but have crossed national borders together to 51 countries all over the world." Model of cross-border classroom It not only allows students to practice listening, speaking, and pronunciation with professors and foreign friends, but it also helps to share the culture and food of the the Ancestral Land region to international acquaintances. For example, the Muong people’s stilt houses, Xoan singing, ethnic minority food... so that overseas friends may better comprehend Vietnam’s customs, practices, and traditional beliefs.
With her borderless lessons, teacher Ha Anh Phuong (in the middle) helped to transmit the Ancestral Land area culture to foreign acquaintances.
Teacher Phuong and the little girl “Sour Meat Flower” are only two examples of numerous young people who have lately embraced social media to share traditional culture with domestic and international acquaintances. Many tiktokers and youtubers have taken use of contemporary technology’s advancement, bringing many appealing tourist attractions, cultural characteristics, distinctive festivals, and unusual foods in various locations across the province. They are the “digital native” young people, the “messengers” who bring traditional cultural beauty closer to the community, piqueing viewers' curiosity, attention, and inviting them to come and experience them.
Tourists visited Long Coc tea hill, Tan Son district, to view the lovely green tea hills for themselves after seeing footage posted on Tiktok by numerous young people.
The use of current technology, access to and exploitation of social networks of young people with a passion for their homes and nation has the promise of becoming a “mobile museum” for each location. Today’s young people are responsible, proactive, and passionate about using social media to promote their community’s culture, becoming the most practical and successful "ambassadors." To do so, young people must always acquire cultural understanding while also maintaining national pride and self-esteem.
