On August 19, Mr. Nguyen Huu Long, a resident of Van Ban Commune, Phu Tho Province handed over several artifacts which were discovered in his garden to representatives of the provincial museum. The artifacts includes two bronze drums, a square-headed axe, and a bronze container.
Artifacts were discovered by Mr. Long’s family while working in their garden.
Mr. Long’s family unearthed a number of bronze objects buried deep in the soil. Realizing these were ancient artifacts, Mr. Long reported the finding to the Van Ban Commune People’s Committee. After an initial inspection, the committee invited representatives from the Phu Tho Provincial Museum to conduct evaluation and assessment.

According to initial research and surveys, the leadership of the Phu Tho Provincial Museum stated that these bronze objects date back to the Dong Son culture, more than 2,500 years ago. They are considered highly valuable relics.

The reporting and handover of the artifacts by Mr. Nguyen Huu Long’s family is commendable and deserves timely recognition. The Phu Tho Provincial Museum has received the artifacts and will preserve and display them, enabling the public to access and learn more about the nation’s history and culture.
