Con Pass — a long, winding and perilous mountain pass that links the center of Thu Cuc Commune (Phu Tho Province) with Nga Hai on the far side — stretches along a scenic route where travelers can take in layers of mountains and vast seas of clouds rolling into view.
Often referred to as the northwestern gateway of Phu Tho Province, Con Pass connects to Phu Yen District in neighboring Son La Province. Capitalizing on its winding terrain, romantic landscape and sweeping views — along with the ideal altitude for cloud-hunting — local residents in recent years have invested in cafés, rest stops and lively check-in spots. These sites now draw large numbers of visitors eager to capture photos and videos amid the clouds.
Alongside well-known cloud-hunting destinations such as Hang Kia (Pa Co) and Tam Dao (Tam Dao Commune), Con Pass has quickly emerged as a popular new site, contributing to tourism development and promoting Phu Tho’s natural landscape to travelers and adventure lovers from near and far.

Phu Tho Online Newspaper presents a photo series capturing the clouds over Con Pass during this season.

Early sunlight reveals a tranquil scene as thick clouds spill over and wrap around the surrounding mountain peaks, creating a mesmerizing tableau of swirling, layered mist.

As the sun rises, brilliant morning light makes the floating clouds shimmer, rendering the pass even more poetic and captivating.

Long wisps of clouds drift gently across the valley, reflecting sunlight and amplifying the grandeur of the landscape.

To catch the clouds at their most beautiful, visitors must rise early, check weather conditions, and reach the summit of the pass in time to select the best viewing and photography angles.
With its rising appeal as a new cloud-hunting hotspot in the Northwest, Con Pass is attracting tourists and check-in enthusiasts alike. Beyond cloud-hunting, the location also shows potential for tourism activities such as exploration and paragliding.

Visitors often become completely absorbed in the sight of the morning clouds drifting across Con Pass — and return home with countless stunning photos.

Chill, aesthetically pleasing check-in photos shared by travelers have further contributed to spreading the charm and beauty of Con Pass to a wider audience.

One visitor expressed pure delight and excitement when witnessing the majestic scenery and billowing early-morning clouds that make Con Pass so unforgettable.
