Creating more jobs for workers

Since the beginning of the year, despite many difficulties and challenges, the province’s economy has recovered and developed in most areas. Many synchronous solutions have been implemented by all levels and sectors with the aim of creating more jobs and increasing income for workers, such as improving the quality of labor resources, promoting vocational training for rural workers, vocational training to meet the needs of businesses, supporting information, connecting labor supply and demand, exporting labor to foreign markets, etc.

In the first nine months of 2024, the number of employed workers was 14.5 thousand people (an increase of 0.9% over the same period in 2023). Comrade Pham Thi Thu Huong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, said: The goal of the labor sector in 2024 is to create 16,500 more jobs and send 2,500 workers to work abroad under contracts, which has so far reached over 87%. The need to recruit more workers is mainly to expand production lines, increase product output, and a few are to supplement the shortage of workers due to old workers quitting. In addition, 810 newly established enterprises and 250 enterprises returning to operation are also the premise for new workers to have more jobs. In addition, the rate of trained and vocationally trained workers reaching 71% will meet a part of the labor force with technical expertise and skills for enterprises in industrial parks and clusters and attract investment in the province.

The Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has proactively coordinated with agencies, units, localities, and enterprises to review the needs of labor recruitment, vocational training, and employment of workers to organize appropriate job counseling and referrals; promote communication work on vocational education, orientation, and student streaming... Directing vocational training institutions in the province to improve training quality and coordinating with enterprises, production, and business establishments to organize vocational training classes according to address, helping to increase the rate of students having jobs immediately after graduation.

According to forecasts, the situation of attracting labor at enterprises will continue to increase in the last months of the year, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will continue to review and grasp the production and business situation as well as labor demand, especially for workers in industrial parks and clusters, FDI enterprises, labor-intensive industries such as textiles, footwear, wood processing, etc. to better connect labor supply and demand, and connect business owners with workers; increase information sharing on labor recruitment needs of companies and enterprises, provide full information on the regime, policies, recruitment conditions, working conditions, living conditions and income of employees when working at companies and enterprises; promote job consulting and referral, improve the efficiency of job exchanges, increase the ability to connect labor supply and demand in the market, between employees and employers... contributing to solving employment in the province.
