Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung Visits MK Vision Joint Stock Company

On the morning of April 15, a Government delegation led by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, paid a working visit to MK Vision Joint Stock Company at the Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park.

The delegation was joined by Mr. Pham Duc Long, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee; and leaders of various provincial departments and agencies.

Established in July 2020, MK Vision specializes in the design, manufacture, and assembly of cameras, card readers, security keys, RFID devices, mobile terminals, and short-range radio equipment. Most notably, the company produces AI cameras, which are categorized as strategic national technology products.

Currently, the company operates two SMT production lines and three assembly and packaging lines with an average annual output of 1.2 million units. MK Vision is also distinguished as the only Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) partner in Southeast Asia for Ambarella, a world-leading technology group in image processing and Artificial Intelligence.

During the session, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung and the delegation toured the company’s card case and AI camera production lines. MK Vision’s leadership proposed that the Government and relevant ministries finalize a legal framework and establish national standards for AI camera systems—covering connectivity, hardware security, and data encryption—to ensure information safety in large-scale surveillance. They also advocated for a “State-University-Enterprise” collaboration mechanism to master core technologies such as processing chips and optical lenses, while requesting policies to prioritize “Make in Vietnam” technology in public procurement projects.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Huy Ngoc emphasized that having high-tech facilities like MK Vision serves as a vital catalyst for Phu Tho to become a leading hub for AI camera research and manufacturing. He committed that the province would synchronize inter-regional infrastructure, implement tailored incentives for innovative firms, and act as a “Pioneer Market” for testing security authentication platforms in smart city governance. He also directed specialized agencies to assist MK Vision in finalizing its application for “High-Tech Enterprise” status.

Commending MK Vision’s technological autonomy, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung noted that mastering the entire value chain—from mechanics and electronics to AI operating systems—is a vivid testament to the spirit of innovation. He stated that a core mission of the Government’s new term is to remove institutional bottlenecks and create breakthrough policies for “locomotive” technology firms.

In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Science and Technology with drafting evaluation criteria for leading technology enterprises and establishing national standards for hardware encryption. He further urged Phu Tho Province to develop specific local policies to attract high-tech investment, ensuring that science and technology become the decisive pillars of national competitiveness and stature in the new era.
