Under the skilled hands of the artisan, lifeless pieces of wood or ordinary lumps of clay awaken as if infused with spirit and breath.
More than a mere transformation of materials, each creation born from those hands tells its own story—conveying deep-rooted cultural values of Vietnam. Every line and contour is highly regarded by experts and has received prestigious awards, affirming the artisan’s talent and heartfelt devotion to breathing life into seemingly inert matter.
Artisan Trieu Tien Cong—born in 1975 in Minh Thang Commune, Cam Khe District—has devoted over 40 years to his passion for art. His creative repertoire spans various mediums, including painting, sculpture, and wood carving.
The wood carving titled “The Word Thanking the Party” earned Trieu Tien Cong the A Prize at the 2023 Phu Tho Provincial Literature and Arts Awards.
Wood as a medium, combined with themes of ethnic minority women and a minimalist style, frequently appears in his body of work.

Sculpture is a demanding discipline—requiring not only technical mastery but also depth of thought and artistic vision.
It demands intense focus over extended periods to achieve works of high artistic value.
Contours—sunken and raised—light and shadow gradually take shape through both vision and craftsmanship.
Currently, Trieu Tien Cong is pouring his heart into a series of ceramic works inspired by the Hung King Legend.
Motifs and patterns from the Hung King era are meticulously researched and recreated in ceramic form.
