On the afternoon of July 25, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Meiko Hoa Binh Electronic Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing Factory (Phase 1), located in the Left Bank of Da River Industrial Park, Hoa Binh Ward.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, presented a flower basket to congratulate Meiko Group at the factory inauguration ceremony.
The Meiko Hoa Binh factory was invested in by the Meiko Group (Japan) and officially commenced construction in April 2024. This is the fifth printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly facility developed by Meiko in Vietnam. The factory will produce electronic circuit boards for peripheral devices, computers, home electronics, audiovisual equipment, solar cells, microprocessors, and controllers.
The project covers 9.2 hectares, with a total investment of USD 200 million (over VND 4,600 billion), and is expected to increase to USD 500 million in Phase 2.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delivered a congratulatory speech at the factory inauguration ceremony.
At the event, Mr. Atsushi Satake, Executive Vice President of Meiko Group, expressed confidence that the factory, once operational, will make a meaningful contribution to Phu Tho’s economic growth. He expressed hope for continued support from local authorities to enable the timely implementation of Phase 2, which is projected to receive an additional USD 350 million in investment.
On this occasion, Meiko Group donated 1,000 trumpet trees to Hoa Binh Ward, contributing to the development of a green, clean, and beautiful urban landscape.
In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long shared his delight that, after more than a year of construction, the factory had successfully completed all phases of the build. He described the project as a model example of industrial development, showcasing the effective cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the fields of high technology, electronics manufacturing, and sustainable development.
The Standing Deputy Secretary emphasized that the province always considers regional connectivity and high-tech industry—linked with environmental protection and local job creation—as one of its core and long-term development strategies. The investment by Meiko, a leading Japanese electronics corporation, not only demonstrates the strong confidence of international investors in Vietnam’s investment climate but also marks a significant step in strengthening regional production linkages.
Provincial leaders visited the factory after the inauguration ceremony.
Mr. Long expressed his belief that the Meiko Hoa Binh factory will serve as a key driver of local development—not only economically but also in training high-tech human resources, transferring advanced technology, and cultivating a supportive industrial ecosystem across the region. He reaffirmed the province’s commitment to providing maximum support in areas such as infrastructure connectivity, workforce development, and policy facilitation to help Meiko Group confidently expand its production and investment in Vietnam.
