In recent times, the industry and trade sector has made many innovations in trade promotion activities to help businesses promote and introduce products, boost production and business, and expand domestic and export markets.

OCOP product owners exchange, share, and learn from experiences in improving product quality and appearance at product display and introduction conferences organized by the Department of Industry and Trade.

In order to promote trade promotion activities, the Department of Industry and Trade regularly coordinates with departments, branches, localities, and units to organize activities to connect supply and demand and consume products. At the same time, it propagates, mobilizes, and supports businesses and production and business establishments in the province to participate in trade fairs and supply and demand connection conferences held in provinces and cities across the country. Thereby, connecting consumption and promoting products of businesses in the province to distributors and consumers inside and outside the province.

The 2024 Phu Tho OCOP Trade Fair and Products, part of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the 2024 Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week organized by the Department of Industry and Trade, has attracted the participation of many enterprises and cooperatives inside and outside the province. The department has also provided a list of OCOP products of the province that have been recognized by the end of 2023 to supermarkets, trade centers, and the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to support the connection of consumption of OCOP products of Phu Tho province. Survey the demand for support in designing product packaging samples; organize display areas; introduce typical products of Phu Tho province at domestic fairs and exhibitions; and program in the chain of events to promote trade and develop import and export in the Northern Midlands and Mountains in Lao Cai province. At the same time, continue to post information about OCOP products on the Phu Tho Province E-commerce Exchange giaothuong.net.vn and coordinate to promote e-commerce and the E-commerce Exchange giaothuong.net.vn on Phu Tho Newspaper. Up to now, the Exchange has 333 booths with 1,013 products and services (an increase of 18 booths and 51 products and services compared to December 2023).

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hong, Director of Phu Thinh Tea Production and Processing Cooperative, Phu Ho Commune, Phu Tho Town, said, "After Phu Ho tea products were recognized as 4-star OCOP, along with constantly improving product quality, the Cooperative has invested in labels, packaging, logos, and traceability stamps... to meet customer tastes. Along with that, the cooperative always focuses on promotional activities through participating in booths introducing OCOP products, fairs inside and outside the province... Therefore, Phu Ho tea has affirmed its brand and quality with consumers".

Through trade promotion activities, enterprises, cooperatives, and production and business establishments have promoted and introduced typical products of the province to a large number of consumers and business communities across the country. At the same time, it is easy to connect with foreign markets, thereby strengthening production links, boosting product consumption, and moving towards export.

According to Mr. Dang Viet Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, in order for the province’s products and goods to reach a large number of consumers, along with propaganda and mobilization of enterprises and production establishments to focus on promotion, brand building, and improving product quality, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation, supporting enterprises in trade promotion, boosting the consumption of products and goods. Timely and effectively deploy consumer stimulus programs, supply and demand connection activities, and domestic market trade promotion; increase the application of e-commerce in the circulation and distribution of goods by encouraging modern distribution systems and promoting the application of information technology and e-commerce. Continue to implement the project on developing the domestic market in conjunction with the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” in the new situation in Phu Tho province for the period 2021-2025.
