On February 12 (the 15th day of the lunar calendar), the Lang Suong Temple Festival for the Year of the Snake 2025 was held at the Lang Suong Temple National Historical Site in Dong Trung Commune, Thanh Thuy District.
After the procession of offerings and the ritual of fetching water from the Da River to Lang Suong Temple, as well as the ceremonial drum and gong performance to open the festival, delegates offered incense, flowers, and offerings to pay tribute to Tan Vien Mountain Saint, his family, and his two generals. This was followed by ritual ceremonies and a solemn incense-offering ceremony. In addition to the main festival activities, various cultural, artistic, and sports events took place, along with traditional folk games such as shuttlecock throwing and clay pot breaking, aiming to preserve and promote the nation’s cultural heritage and traditions.
Through thousands of years of history and multiple renovations and restorations, Lang Suong Temple has retained its traditional architecture, featuring an artistic blend of successive historical periods. Due to its significant cultural and historical value, Lang Suong Temple was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Site in 2005. In 2018, the traditional Lang Suong Temple Festival was designated as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism under Decision No. 3325/QD-BVHTTDL, dated September 4, 2018.
