Phu Tho Determined to Breakthrough with Double-Digit Economic Growth Target

On the morning of May 8, Mr. Pham Dai Duong—Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Double-Digit Growth—presided over a meeting to deploy key tasks for the 2026–2030 period.

The conference was attended by Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC); Mr. Bui Van Quang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Bui Duc Hinh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; along with Vice Chairmen of the PPC and leaders of various departments.

Delegates discussed and provided feedback on the "Double-Digit Economic Growth Scheme for 2026–2030, with a vision to 2045." They affirmed that achieving double-digit growth is a comprehensive step for Phu Tho to maximize its potential and create new competitive advantages amidst deep international integration, aiming for sustainable development and prosperity by 2045. To realize the scheme’s objectives, delegates emphasized building detailed growth scenarios and proactive response plans for risks such as energy shortages or supply chain disruptions. In this framework, agriculture will continue to serve as the economy’s “backbone” by enhancing added value, while industrial and service sectors must undergo meticulous reviews to calculate the specific contribution of each project. Furthermore, investment activities must remain focused and strategic, decisively avoiding scattered allocation to optimize capital efficiency.

Identifying science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as pivotal factors, many officials argued for measurable metrics to assess their contribution to growth quality. The province will focus on attracting high-tech investors, ensuring a balance between supporting existing businesses and “rolling out the red carpet” for leading global technology corporations to drive the digital economy.

Concluding the meeting, Secretary Pham Dai Duong underscored that double-digit growth must be synonymous with quality and sustainability. Aligning with core resolutions, particularly Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, he directed all sectors to clearly define key tasks for a strong shift toward high-tech industries with high added value. He emphasized that science and technology must be the primary engine for optimizing resources and ensuring double-digit growth.

To ensure feasibility, the Secretary required thorough preparation of content and clear goal identification, anticipating challenges to build growth scenarios with detailed tasks for each stage. This is seen as a key factor to ensure synchronized management and the determination to turn growth targets into reality from the very first months of the 2026–2030 term.

The Steering Committee also discussed the list and implementation status of key provincial projects. To avoid management overlaps, it was agreed to integrate these projects as a core component of the Double-Digit Economic Growth Scheme. For projects facing obstacles or undergoing inspections and audits, a separate handling mechanism will be applied to ensure strict compliance with legal regulations.
