Phu Tho ranks 10th out of 63 provinces and cities at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival
On the afternoon of August 6, at the Viet Tiep Friendship Cultural Palace, Hai Phong City, the Closing Ceremony and awarding ceremony for the athletes at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 took place. The Phu Tho Student Sports Delegation finished in 10th place out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide with 2,111 points and was one of the 10 units with the most outstanding achievements at the big festival of school sports.
The Organizing Committee awarded flags to 10 units with outstanding achievements at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.
The Phu Tho delegation had 186 athletes and officials participating, of whom 145 competed in 9 sports, including swimming, table tennis, volleyball, primary school football, secondary school football, high school football, badminton, athletics, taekwondo, Vovinam and traditional martial arts.
At the end of the Festival, the Phu Tho delegation won 8 medals of various types. Including 1 Gold medal for athlete Tran Hong Quan in athletics; 1 Silver medal; 3 Bronze medals in table tennis; and 3 Bronze medals in athletics, badminton, and Vovinam.
With 29 Gold medals, 20 Silver medals, and 49 Bronze medals won at the 10th National Sports Festival (Region I) held in Phu Tho province, the Phu Tho Provincial Student Sports Delegation accumulated 2,111 points, ranking 10th overall. On the medal rankings, Phu Tho ranked 11th with a total of 31 Gold medals, 22 Silver medals, and 61 Bronze medals.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the athlete delegations with high achievements at the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024. The Phu Tho delegation received the emulation flag of the Ministry of Education and Training for its outstanding achievements.
