Strengthen Friendship and Cooperation Between Phu Tho and Luang Namtha

On the morning of August 27, Comrade Pham Dai Duong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, chaired a reception for a delegation from the Public Security Forces of Luang Namtha Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, led by Major General Insom Thamlasin, Director of the Provincial Public Security, during their working visit to Phu Tho province.

At the reception, Provincial Party Secretary Pham Dai Duong warmly welcomed the delegation to Phu Tho province.

He emphasized that the special relationship and loyal, steadfast bond between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Phu Tho and Luang Namtha provinces in particular, have endured throughout history and been cultivated across generations of leaders and peoples of both nations.

The two localities have implemented numerous cooperation agreements and offered active mutual support across various sectors, particularly in socio-economic development. This has contributed to nurturing the special friendship and solidarity between the two countries as well as between Phu Tho and Luang Namtha.

Briefly highlighting the province’s potential, advantages, and new development space, Provincial Party Secretary Pham Dai Duong expressed his desire for both localities to build upon their similarities, step up exchanges, share experiences, and expand cooperation across fields—especially in socio-economic development, education, and training.

Regarding political security and social order, the public security forces of both provinces need to strengthen coordination and mutual support while enhancing the exchange of experience in preventing and combating high-tech crime, ensuring cybersecurity, and addressing non-traditional security challenges.

Briefing on local conditions, the Director of Luang Namtha Provincial Public Security affirmed that the unit will maintain annual delegation exchanges and solidify cooperative ties between the public security forces of both provinces to grow ever tighter and more effective.

Expressing his honor as the visit coincided with the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Major General Insom Thamlasin fully acknowledged the guidance of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Secretary to report back to Luang Namtha provincial leadership, while extending his best congratulations to the leaders and people of Phu Tho province.
