On March 15, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism collaborated with the Thang Long Cultural Research Institute (Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations) and the Tam Nong district People’s Committee to host a scientific conference with the theme “The King Ngo Quyen in Vietnamese consciousness”.
The gathering began with speeches by Tam Nong district authorities.
King Ngo Quyen is remembered as a national liberation hero who ended the domination of the South by Northern feudal dynasties, ushering in a new era: Vietnamese freedom. South after thousands of years of Northern dominance. That hero won the historic Bach Dang triumph in history. King Ngo Quyen’s leadership and contribution in opening the kingdom have been recognized throughout history.
Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council, presented an address during the conference.
Thang Long Cultural Research Institute recently conducted a survey at Hang Kenh communal house, Tu Luong Sam communal house, Bach Dang Giang relic site, and related relics in Hai Phong; Tomb of Ngo Quyen and temples in Duong Lam, Son Tay, Quoc Oai (Hanoi); Tien Lu (Hung Yen); Tam Canh temple cluster in Vinh Phuc, and, in particular, Cheo Temple in Thanh Uyen commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province. At Cheo Temple, there is a unique horizontal panel called “Bright of Nam Tu”. The horizontal panel of such national significance is located in a rural temple distant from the base and the site of King Ngo Quyen’s historical conflict, creating a query that must be decoded: Does Cheo Village have Is this part of Ngo Quyen’s military training and exercises? At what point in his career did the King train and exercise? And who created the horizontal plaque recognizing King Ngo Quyen’s contributions to the country’s opening?
The scientific study conference on King Ngo Quyen was conducted to once again establish King Ngo Quyen’s role and place in the country’s openness, with the involvement of major historians and cultural experts from the Central Government and localities. This conference also set the goal of convincing Vietnamese people of their dedication to King Ngo Quyen through documentation and an on-site inspection of the spot where King Ngo Quyen is worshiped, complete with imprints and information. The message highlights His career and effect on people’s lives from history to the present. Discussions centered on the following content: General concerns concerning King Ngo Quyen and the Ngo dynasty in history; Protect and develop cultural heritage values related with King Ngo Quyen in areas. The Den Cheo festival remembers King Ngo Quyen’s coronation day. Promoting the importance of Ngo Quyen religious tradition during the Den Cheo festival in Nam Cuong hamlet, Thanh Uyen commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province.
Professor Dr. Pham Hong Tung of Hanoi National University provided views.
Tam Nong district authorities anticipated that delegates, managers, and scientists would continue to debate and resolve concerns concerning King Ngo Quyen and the Ngo Quyen Temple (Cheo Temple). at Thanh Uyen commune, allowing locals to learn more about the monuments, festivals, and King Ngo Quyen. At the same time, we request that all levels and branches pay attention and consider assisting the district in completing the dossier to build Cheo Temple as a national historical and cultural relic, creating conditions for the district to continue investing, repairing, and respecting the temple, creating monuments, and supporting the restoration of the festival to ensure it is more complete and solemn, worthy of being a place to worship the king of the Vietnamese people, and becoming
