Recently, with the drastic and synchronous participation of Phu Tho Customs, it has contributed to maintaining the growth of the province’s import-export sector. In 2023, the province’s total import-export turnover will reach 19.6 billion USD, import-export tax collection will reach over 532 billion VND, reaching 133% of the assigned target. That result continues to be an important foundation for Phu Tho Customs to successfully implement the goals set for 2024.

According to regulations, on February 15, the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, Phu Tho Customs Branch enters the first working day of the new year 2024. Although the sixth day of Tet is the official working schedule of the unit, during the Tet holidays, Phu Tho Customs always has leaders and officers on duty to carry out customs clearance procedures to ensure timely production and business activities of the enterprise.

Mr. Dang Duc Thuan - customs clearance representative of Vietnam Sunergy Cell Co., Ltd. (Cam Khe Industrial Park) said: "The company specializes in importing electronic components to produce solar panels. Because it is imported from abroad, the goods can arrive at any time. On the third day of the last Tet, the Company had a shipment of imported components. Even though it was during the Tet holiday, the Customs officer in charge of the shift quickly completed the procedures so that the Company could have goods for production in time."

Through research, we learned that in the first week of launching, on average each day, Phu Tho Customs Branch received about 400-500 declarations from units and businesses inside and outside the area, of which documents in the green channel were about 350 declarations, in the yellow channel there were about 100 declarations... with the main import and export goods being machinery and equipment, raw materials and supplies used for processing the garment industry, canvas, and electrical components, stone powder. It can be seen that the volume of customs clearance documents is quite large during the day, but with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and urgent work of the Customs staff, all incoming and outgoing shipments of businesses are cleared quickly and promptly.

In 2024, Phu Tho Customs Branch is assigned a budget revenue estimate of 480 billion VND, the unit’s target target is 680 billion VND. In the context that 2024 is forecast to have many difficulties and challenges from home and abroad, significantly affecting import and export activities as well as the tasks of the Customs sector, closely follow the direction of the Government and Customs at all levels, Phu Tho Customs is determined to turn challenges into opportunities, steadfast with the set goals, tasks and solutions; promote creativity, join forces, and unanimously strive to overcome difficulties and strive to achieve the highest goals and targets of the plan.
