Accelerating the implementation of agricultural projects

On November 26, the working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep, worked with the Provincial People’s Committee on the progress of implementing construction investment projects in the province managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

At the meeting, the province proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development a number of issues: supporting funding for the province to renovate dike works, overcome landslides, and renovate the dam system to serve production... to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and floods; supporting the province to renovate and upgrade degraded lakes, dams, and riverside pumping stations in the Ministry’s investment programs and projects; supporting funding for the project to reinforce and upgrade the weak dike and embankment sections and the flood-prevention wall system on the left and right dikes of the Thao River, Ha Hoa District...

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Quang pledged: The province will focus on accelerating the progress of compensation and site clearance, ensuring conditions for project implementation, and meeting the approved progress requirements. In particular, the completion of the Ngoi Gianh Lake Canal System Project and the commencement of the Thuc Luyen Reservoir Project in 2025 have been directed by the province, identified as two key projects to welcome the 20th Provincial Party Congress.

Leaders of the Department of Construction Management, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, expressed their opinions on ensuring the progress of project construction.

He also recommended that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development consider and allocate the capital plan for 2025 and invest in projects in the medium-term plan for the period 2026-2030 to support the province in building and upgrading irrigation works and natural disaster prevention to gradually complete the infrastructure of agriculture and rural areas, ensure the safety of irrigation works and natural disaster prevention, and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai spoke about the site clearance work for the projects.

Appreciating the drastic participation and coordination of the province with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in implementing projects in the area, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep requested the construction unit and local authorities to do a good job of mobilizing people in compensation and site clearance for the projects. The province needs to consider the plan to effectively exploit the Ngoi Gianh Reservoir Canal System Project after completion, especially ensuring water for agricultural production and domestic use. Regarding the Thuc Luyen Reservoir Project, he suggested that the province work with the Vietnam Paper Corporation to review the entire reclaimed area related to agricultural and forestry land, thereby having a plan to clear the land to serve the project. The Thao River Left Bank Protection Embankment Project needs to ensure the right schedule and be completed in 2025.
