Implementing the National Target Programs for ethnic minority and mountainous areas from 2019 to the present, the province has focused on strongly directing the transformation of production structure and crop and livestock structure, encouraging and helping people change farming practices from small-scale, traditional to developing commodity agricultural production.
In the period of 2021-2023, agricultural, forestry, and fishery production grew by an average of 3.67%; the area and yield of crops were basically stable, with rice area of 58.4 thousand hectares, industrial crops, and perennial fruit trees of 29.4 thousand hectares.
Thanks to the support and development incentive policies, many livestock and crop models in Thu Cuc commune, Tan Son district, have invested in raising chickens and rabbits and growing grapefruit, bringing stable income to their families.
The province focuses on policies that support and encourage agricultural development. The province has 445 concentrated growing areas with an area of 19.6 thousand hectares; a number of chain linkage models have been formed (tea, grapefruit, large trees, medicinal plants, chickens, pigs) in rural areas of ethnic minorities; the average product value/ha of cultivated land reached VND125.5 million. Livestock and aquaculture have developed stably, forming concentrated farming models (pigs, chickens, cows..., tea, grapefruit, bananas, vegetables). Large timber plantations have reached 14.5 thousand hectares, forming 40 large timber production areas with an area of 4.4 thousand hectares.
Through the programs, it has contributed to the effective implementation of the Party and State’s policies for ethnic minority areas in the province.
