Bringing Cooperative Products To Reach Out

Recently, the Cooperative Alliance (CA) of the province has strengthened support for local cooperatives to develop product manufacturing, establish production linkages, promote digital transformation, and apply scientific and technological advances. This has gradually enhanced the production and business capacity of cooperatives, boosted product consumption, particularly for potential and distinctive agricultural products, and contributed to the socio-economic development of the local area.

The high-tech agricultural cooperative products, including Cordyceps, produced by Bio Gold Cooperative in Thanh Uyen Commune, Tam Nong District, are examples of this development.

Currently, there are 603 cooperatives operating in the province with a total of over 107,802 members. With its core role in supporting members, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance has mobilized various resources and implemented multiple solutions, such as: supporting the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances; assisting with market research, access, and connections for local production units, businesses, and cooperatives; providing training to enhance the skills of cooperative staff and members; offering preferential loans from the Cooperative Development Support Fund; and creating favorable conditions for cooperatives to adapt to the market, organize production plans, and expand business activities in the new context.

As of now, the province has 85 cooperatives engaged in production and product consumption linkages, 100 cooperatives applying advanced and high technologies in production, and 127 products from 82 cooperatives have been rated and classified as OCOP (One Commune One Product) with a 3-star rating or higher. The value of goods from OCOP products has increased by 15-20%.

Notable products include: Hung Lo rice noodles, Thanh Nam tea, Long Coc tea, Da Hen tea, Lien Hoa Chi herbal tea, Thanh Lam herbal tea... Specifically, Hung Lo rice noodles and Thanh Nam tea have been exported to markets in Japan and Saudi Arabia. The cooperatives continue to adhere to strict quality standards and attractive packaging, ensuring that OCOP products gain a strong foothold in both domestic and international markets, creating additional jobs and stable incomes for their members.

Currently, cooperatives in agriculture, industry, handicrafts, trade, and services are actively applying technology and digital transformation in production and management, with over 70% of cooperatives utilizing social media to introduce and promote their products. In 2024, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance will continue to lead the implementation of a scientific project: Promoting the application of management systems and tools to improve productivity and quality in cooperatives across the province. The project has supported 14 cooperatives in building productivity and quality management systems, applying technology transfer, and implementing digital transformation. These cooperatives have been introduced to advanced, environmentally-friendly scientific and technological innovations, creating a shift in the mindset towards development, scientific and technological application, and innovation, thus enhancing the productivity, quality, and effectiveness of their production and business activities.

Additionally, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance has organized and coordinated 14 training courses for over 1,200 participants, including managers, members, and workers within cooperatives. These training sessions focused on key areas such as: improving cooperative management skills, marketing, trade promotion, digital transformation, negotiation, market connection, building collective trademarks, and improving product packaging and labeling.

Particularly, the Alliance has strengthened support for cooperatives to introduce and promote products through provincial media platforms; helped 40 cooperatives showcase their products on e-commerce platforms; connected cooperatives with supermarkets, convenience stores, and OCOP stores both within and outside the province for product distribution; organized and supported 56 cooperatives in displaying and promoting 100 products at trade fairs in various provinces and cities across the country. The Alliance has also supported the operation and maintenance of booths for 50 cooperatives, featuring nearly 120 products and services on the Phu Tho Province e-commerce platform: giaothuong.net.vn.
