Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong Meets with Sumitomo Corporation of Japan

On the afternoon of July 31, Tran Duy Dong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a working session with Sumitomo Corporation of Japan and Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park Co., Ltd. Representatives of relevant provincial departments and agencies also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Shigeo Fukuda, representative of Sumitomo Corporation, presented the Binh Xuyen–Yen Lac II Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Development Project (Phase 1).

The project covers approximately 132 hectares in Xuan Lang and Nguyet Duc communes, with an estimated total investment of more than VND 2.652 trillion.

The project aims to develop modern industrial infrastructure, establish a supporting industrial ecosystem, and attract Japanese investors in high-tech industries such as semiconductors, mobile phones, electronic components and precision engineering.

Sumitomo’s representative highly appreciated Phu Tho Province’s “green channel” investment attraction policy, affirming that the corporation has prepared all necessary resources and is committed to working closely with the provincial authorities to implement the project while promoting Phu Tho’s investment environment to international partners.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Tran Duy Dong acknowledged and highly appreciated Sumitomo Corporation’s capacity and professionalism in developing industrial infrastructure projects.

He reaffirmed that Phu Tho Province is committed to accompanying capable investors and creating the most favorable conditions for project implementation. The province will proactively accelerate land clearance and complete transport infrastructure connecting the project area.

Regarding the implementation schedule, Chairman Tran Duy Dong instructed the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to complete all necessary procedures with the goal of granting the project’s Investment Registration Certificate by the end of August 2026 and commencing construction in early November 2026.

He also requested Sumitomo Corporation to work closely with the province’s specialized agencies in preparing a clear phased investment plan and mobilizing maximum resources to ensure that construction begins as scheduled.

Representatives of Sumitomo Corporation expressed their sincere appreciation for the strong support provided by the provincial leadership and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board to bring the project into operation as soon as possible, contributing to the socio-economic development of Phu Tho Province.
