Phu Tho and Amata Expand Cooperation in Industrial Development

On the afternoon of July 28, a delegation from Amata Group (Thailand), led by its Chairman Vikrom Kromadit, visited and held a working session with the leaders of Phu Tho Province. Receiving the delegation were Tran Duy Dong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Quach Tat Liem, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; together with leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Chairman Tran Duy Dong welcomed Vikrom Kromadit and members of the Amata delegation to Phu Tho Province.

He provided an overview of the province’s strengths, competitive advantages and development orientation following the provincial merger. He highlighted that in the first six months of 2026, Phu Tho attracted 61 FDI projects with total registered capital of nearly $1.78 billion.

To date, the province has 747 valid FDI projects with total registered investment exceeding $15 billion, originating from 28 countries and territories. Thailand accounts for 15 projects with a combined investment of nearly $500 million.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong stated that in the coming period, Phu Tho will prioritize investment projects in high technology, clean technology, electronics, semiconductors, precision engineering, medical equipment, supporting industries, green energy, and advanced manufacturing and processing industries.

The province also aims to develop an integrated industrial ecosystem linked with logistics, urban development and services, moving toward smart, eco-industrial parks and sustainable development.

He affirmed that Phu Tho will continue to improve its investment and business environment through administrative reform, synchronized infrastructure development, human resource development, and strong support for enterprises to ensure efficient investment and business operations.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong reaffirmed the province’s commitment to creating the most favorable conditions for Amata Group and its partners to successfully implement their investment projects.

He expressed his hope that Amata would capitalize on its international experience to accelerate the development of Doan Hung Industrial Park, bring the project into operation at the earliest opportunity, attract more high-tech investment projects, and contribute to Phu Tho’s socio-economic development while improving the quality of the local workforce.

Vikrom Kromadit thanked the provincial leaders for their warm reception and highly appreciated Phu Tho’s continued support and favorable investment environment for businesses.

He introduced Amata Group as one of the region’s leading developers of industrial estates, industrial cities and smart cities.

Founded in 1989 in Thailand, Amata has grown over the past 35 years into a group of approximately 40 subsidiaries, managing nine integrated industrial cities covering more than 10,000 hectares. These developments are home to over 1,400 multinational companies and provide employment for more than 300,000 workers.

In Vietnam, Amata has nearly 30 years of experience in industrial park infrastructure development, with projects covering more than 2,500 hectares in several provinces.

In Phu Tho Province, Amata Phu Tho Urban Joint Stock Company is developing Doan Hung Industrial Park, covering 495 hectares with a total investment of VND 4.887 trillion (approximately $185.23 million). The project is designed to attract investment in high technology, electronics, automotive manufacturing and supporting industries.

The investor has completed the preparatory phase and is currently promoting investment to attract secondary investors while preparing for the project’s official groundbreaking ceremony once all required conditions are met.

The delegation expressed its determination to continue working closely with the provincial authorities to accelerate land clearance by the end of 2026, enabling construction of major project components to begin in early 2027.

The project aims to develop Doan Hung Industrial Park into a smart eco-industrial park featuring internationally standardized infrastructure. Amata also plans to intensify investment promotion activities to attract global companies in electronics, semiconductors, automotive manufacturing, high technology, logistics and supporting industries, thereby helping establish a modern industrial ecosystem and enhance the province’s competitiveness.

The two sides also discussed cooperation in developing high-quality human resources to support high-tech industrial projects. Under the proposed cooperation, Amata Group will strengthen partnerships with universities and vocational institutions in the province in the areas of training, scientific research, internships, practical training and the supply of skilled workers.

Prior to the meeting, Amata Phu Tho Urban Joint Stock Company, a member of Amata Group, conducted surveys of the province’s human resource capacity at Hung Vuong University, Phu Tho Vocational College, and Viet Tri University of Industry.
