This was the direction emphasized by Tran Duy Dong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, during a field inspection of key agricultural production models in the Phu Tho area. The delegation also included Dinh Cong Su, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Finance, Industry and Trade, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee.
At the Vietnam High-Tech Agricultural Seeds and Supplies Joint Stock Company in Phong Chau Ward, the delegation noted the scale of production across three facilities covering a total area of nearly 32 hectares. With a specialized research team, the company supplies approximately 4,000 tons of various rice seeds to the market each year. Of these, the high-quality J02 pure rice variety accounts for around 2,500 tons annually, contributing to the development of specialty rice brands in many localities and exports to markets such as Japan, Australia and Taiwan.

The company has also pioneered investment in 6,000 square meters of greenhouses and net houses applying high technology, mastering cultivation processes for Spirulina and premium vegetables and fruits. The model generates total annual revenue of VND120 billion and annual profits of VND8–10 billion, while providing stable employment for 70 workers with an average monthly income of VND15 million per person. The company is actively coordinating efforts to develop the Phu Ho High-Tech Agricultural Zone and Long Coc tea hills into an ecological area combining agriculture with educational experiences.
Commending the company’s dedication and achievements, Chairman Tran Duy Dong asked it to continue leveraging its research strengths and play a leading role in building a high-quality Phu Tho rice brand. He assigned the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies to strengthen support for technology transfer and complete the relevant legal framework to facilitate replication of the model and develop high-tech agriculture linked with eco-tourism.
At the Dong Luong Commercial Layer Farm, operated by Hoa Phat Phu Tho Poultry One Member Co., Ltd. in Dong Luong Commune, the delegation highly appreciated the scale of the operation, which averages 1.2 million laying hens annually across nearly 50 hectares and supplies approximately 336 million clean eggs to the market each year. In 2025, the company generated revenue of VND773 billion and profits of nearly VND100 billion, providing employment for 330 workers, 80% of whom are local residents, with monthly incomes of VND11–12 million per person. The “Hoa Phat Smile” egg brand has completed intellectual property registration.
In his direction, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee emphasized that large-scale livestock enterprises must proactively secure their breeding stock and master clean egg production technologies meeting required standards. In particular, environmental pollution control must be given top priority, and there must be no adverse impact on local residents’ lives. Regarding difficulties related to livestock-farming safety distances under the 2018 Law on Animal Husbandry, the Chairman assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to take the lead and coordinate in proposing solutions based on the principles of legal compliance and practical suitability, ensuring sustainable business development alongside environmental protection commitments.
Inspecting the concentrated tea-material area in Long Coc Commune, visiting the Mong Ngua tea hills and working at Phu Long Tea Factory, operated by Phu Da Tea Company under Vietnam National Tea Corporation (Vinatea), Chairman Tran Duy Dong acknowledged Vinatea’s management of more than 3,200 hectares of tea in Phu Tho, with fresh tea bud output of nearly 28,000 tons per year. One hundred percent of the tea-growing area has obtained food safety certification, planting-area codes and international Rainforest Alliance certification.

The Chairman affirmed that Phu Tho has the necessary conditions to standardize its premium tea-growing areas and build a “National Model Tea-Growing Region” brand associated with agriculture, tourism and culture. He also identified several bottlenecks that need to be addressed, including low selling prices, inconsistent quality, weak value-chain linkages, more than 1,000 hectares of aging Trung Du and Shan tea, inadequate irrigation and internal farm-road infrastructure, and added value from tea materials that remains below their potential.
Welcoming Vinatea’s proposal to develop a premium tea value chain, the Chairman emphasized the importance of jointly building a distinctive provincial tea brand and positioning Phu Tho as a large-scale, modern tea production center at the national and international levels.

He assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant departments, sectors, local authorities and Vinatea to urgently reorganize tea-material areas in association with eco-tourism; implement land consolidation and plot restructuring; and replace aging tea areas with new, high-quality varieties. At the same time, the province will promote the application of modern technology, mechanization and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) from planting and cultivation through processing; improve product packaging; develop policies to attract strategic investors; and expand experiential tourism models centered on tea culture.
