Connecting trade and consumption

In 2023, the province’s collective economic sector, the heart of which are cooperatives, will gradually revive and thrive. Many cooperative models stay up with the market, using science and technology to boost production and product quality, proactively applying knowledge, linking commerce, and consuming member products. Cooperatives have become a strong axis for family economies, supporting production and economic development and bringing about positive improvements in people’s lives.

Connecting trade and consumption

To increase the consumption of ethnic minority and mountainous goods in 2023, Ga Gay sticky rice products, Muong sour meat, and specialty meat of Yen Lap district cooperatives were introduced and sold at the market.

Keeping up with the market, increasing output

Recently, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance has coordinated with departments, branches, and units to implement many activities to support cooperative development, such as: supporting the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances; focusing on trade promotion, investment attraction, and product and service promotion; assisting production and business units and cooperatives in the province in learning, grasping, and accessing markets; and training to improve the capacity of cooperatives.

The province now has 558 cooperatives in existence, with agricultural cooperatives accounting for more than 70% of the total. Cooperatives have continually developed in order to stay up with market trends, from size of operation to quality and product design.

From the beginning of the year to the present, the average revenue of cooperatives is estimated to be VND2.5 billion/cooperative/year, representing 75.4% of the plan; the average profit of cooperatives is estimated to be VND180 million, representing 82.2% of the plan; and the average income of regular cooperative workers is estimated to be VND4.2 million/person/month. The average person’s credit was VND12.5 million per month.

According to the Provincial Cooperative Alliance, the province as a whole includes approximately 160 cooperatives with commodity items, 75 of which have deployed production along the value chain. To date, the cooperative region has approximately 50 cooperatives and three cooperative groups, with over 80 items obtaining OCOP, with the value of goods from OCOP products increasing by 10-15%.

Many cooperatives have done an excellent job in encouraging the construction of production cooperative models along the value chain connected with products primary force, based on the development strategy of diversifying goods and agricultural products according to market demand. Many cooperatives, particularly those who own unique, indigenous agricultural goods, have opted to adopt their own, distinctive direction linked with the OCOP Program to highlight their own advantages and disadvantages. Factors of production and consumption that are cultural and traditional. However, in order to maintain their position, cooperatives must continue to promote their benefits, improve product trade links, boost competitiveness, and increase production, business efficiency, and member family income growth.

Increasing product trade links

Connecting trade and promoting trade within and outside the province is an effective solution, allowing cooperatives to connect, find, and expand product consumption markets, promote production and business, and improve the efficiency and market position of the market economy.

The Provincial Cooperative Alliance has encouraged and assisted cooperatives to participate in fairs, exhibits, displays, and presentations, promoting its function as a bridge connecting cooperatives with companies and distributors both inside and outside the province. Introduce products at provincial sociopolitical events; organize training courses to strengthen management ability, trade promotion expertise, and market growth; help with product, good, and service updates on e-commerce trade floors...

Since the beginning of 2023, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance has assisted over 40 provincial cooperatives in exhibiting more than 150 different types of products and goods that meet quality standards and conditions for participation in the Industry and Trade Fair Northeast - Phu Tho region in 2023 and the Week of display, product introduction, and product consumption connection organized by Hanoi Cooperative Alliance, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh provinces. The items in the fair and display booths all fulfill quality requirements, have brands, and are made in the province.

Cooperatives in the province can meet and share information in the manufacturing and processing process, as well as promote products trade, locate partners, and grow markets, through trade connection and trade promotion activities.

Many items that are strengths and specialties of provinces and localities have been actively pushed, progressively entering contemporary distribution systems and marketplaces of major provinces and cities across the country, and are popular among customers.
