After nearly 3 days of urgent, serious, responsible, and effective work, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 2024-2029 tenure, was a great success. On October 18, the closing session of the Congress was held at the National Convention Center (Hanoi). Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, and the Presidium of the Congress chaired the closing session.

With the spirit of “Solidarity, Democracy, Innovation, Creativity, and Development,” the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has 1,052 delegates, representing social classes, ethnic groups, religions, armed forces, and overseas Vietnamese attending. At the Congress, the personnel plan was approved, and 397 members were consulted to join the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, 2024-2029 term.

The first conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure, democratically consulted to elect 67 members to join the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (5 vacancies will be filled during the term).

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 9th tenure, Do Van Chien, was elected by consultation to continue holding the position of Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th tenure.

With a spirit of frankness, objectivity, and comprehensiveness, the Congress received 110 comments and dozens of written comments to supplement the documents submitted to the Congress. The Phu Tho delegation delivered a speech at Discussion Center No. 5 with the topic "The role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in building self-governing, prosperous, and happy residential areas; tasks and solutions for implementation.".

With high consensus and unity, the Congress passed the Resolution of the Congress defining the direction, goals, and tasks of the 2024-2029 period, identifying 10 specific targets and 6 action programs, including: promoting propaganda, mobilization, gathering people of all walks of life, strengthening social consensus, promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc; improving the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism; implementing democracy; participating in party and state building; Encouraging people of all walks of life to compete, be creative, effectively carry out campaigns and emulation movements; Promoting the role of mastery, the spirit of self-management of the people, and building united, prosperous, and happy residential areas; Improving the effectiveness of people’s foreign affairs activities and work with overseas Vietnamese; continuing to innovate the organization, content, and methods of operation; improving the capacity of the staff at the front level.

In his closing speech at the Congress, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Do Van Chien, emphasized: The 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is the most vivid and beautiful symbol, demonstrating the strength of the great national unity bloc, an extremely precious tradition of our nation, built and nurtured by many generations of ancestors with sweat, blood, hard work, and sacrifice, with the will, belief, and aspiration of the Vietnamese people who love peace, humanity, and justice; the blood and bones of the children of Vietnam have merged into the motherland to become golden bricks to build the bronze citadel of the Vietnamese Fatherland. Therefore, no hostile force can divide our great unity bloc. From the forum of today’s Congress, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front calls on all classes, social strata, people of all ethnic groups, religions, intellectuals, artists, businessmen, enterprises, and overseas Vietnamese to further promote patriotism, national pride, absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State, and contribute their intelligence and efforts to constantly consolidate and strengthen the tradition and strength of great national unity, combined with the strength of the times, unanimously and jointly: Once discussed, it is agreed; once gone, it is achieved; once determined, the whole country is united in building our beloved Vietnam into a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, and happy country.
