Effectively Exploiting Service and Tourism Activities

As the site dedicated to the Hung Kings, the ancestors of the Vietnamese people, the Hung Kings’ Temple is recognized as a place rich in elements to develop distinctive services and tourism, deeply infused with national cultural identity tied to the history of the nation’s founding and defense during the Hung Kings’ era.

Effectively Exploiting Service and Tourism Activities

With its unique and globally significant values, in 2020, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism recognized the Hung Kings’ Temple as a National Tourist Area, providing a foundation to further promote the cultural heritage and the worship of the Hung Kings alongside service and tourism development.

Receiving between 6 to 8 million visitors annually who come to pay homage to the Hung Kings, the historical site sees approximately 85-90% of the total visitors to the province. This presents an opportunity for the Hung Kings’ Temple historical site to effectively exploit service and tourism activities.

In recent years, to attract more tourists to the roots of the nation, significant investments have been made to construct, restore, and enhance various facilities of Hung Kings’ Temple historical site in line with the status and stature of this special national site. Service and tourism activities are supported by strategically placed shops and service counters, alongside landscaped ponds and spacious areas for recreational activities. The availability of standard accommodation and restaurants meets the basic needs of visitors, resulting in an increasing number of tourists who come to explore, stay, and shop at the Hung Kings’ Temple historical site.

Deputy Director of the Hung Kings’ Temple Historical Site, Pham Thi Hoang Oanh, stated: To effectively exploit service and tourism activities, the site has implemented a range of coordinated solutions, prioritizing and selecting key groups of solutions that align with the new context following the COVID-19 pandemic to attract tourists and increase revenue from tourism and services.

In the coming time, the Hung Kings’ Temple Historical Site will continue to call for investment and socialization, forming joint ventures and partnerships with businesses to engage in tourism services. This aims to create diverse tourism products that showcase the unique cultural characteristics of the Fatherland.

The site will host various performance activities such as Xoan singing, Chau Van singing, musical nights reflecting the spirit of the Fatherland; organize nighttime tours at the Hung Kings’ Temple, a Fatherland food festival, water music performances, and traditional cultural displays of ethnic minorities at Mai An Tiem Lake, Mau (Mother) Lake, Lac Long Quan Lake, and Phu Bung Lake; and develop community tourism models.

With these specific solutions, effectively tapping into traditional cultural values will not only benefit the historical site and the local community but also create opportunities for Phu Tho tourism to develop robustly in the future.
