Thanh Son district, which has numerous advantages in producing OCOP goods, has provided attention and direction to entities to invest and create products, leading to the expansion of raw material production areas and the increase of final product treatment costs. Along with developing new items, the district encourages organizations who have already received recognition to continue investing in product upgrades.
Cam My Tea Cooperative’s raw tea land in Tat Thang commune, Thanh Son district, is maintained and harvested in accordance with VietGAP and organic standards, satisfying the requirements for four-star OCOP goods.
Mr. Ha The Anh, Deputy Head of the District’s Agriculture and Rural Development Department, shared: Thanh Son district intends to develop six OCOP products by 2023. With the attention and guidance of leaders at all levels, as well as improved knowledge of the function of OCOP among subjects, the district officially appraised 11 goods, exceeding the planned number. Six of these items were designated as four-star, indicating their potential to grow the market nationwide.
Thanh Son district has 28 items that have achieved OCOP accreditation, including 10 with three stars and 18 with four stars. The quantity of four-star OCOP items shown above confirms the district’s OCOP product development strategy is on track. To increase the value of OCOP products, Thanh Son district always decides to enhance the roles and responsibilities of party committees and authorities at all levels, especially the grassroots level, in leading, directing, implementing, and promoting the strength of socio-political organizations to implement programmes according to each specific content; Actively promote and organize individuals and economic organizations to participate. Simultaneously, organize the evaluation and classification of OCOP products to ensure strictness, objectivity, and regulatory compliance; strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of regulations on product evaluation and classification; and maintain product conditions and quality of OCOP entities and products.
In addition, the district encourages OCOP entities to participate in trade linkage and promotion activities such as: a forum that connects supply and demand; making connections on digital technology platforms; promoting fairs; and linking trade of OCOP and agricultural goods. As a result, it helps to connect supply and demand between organizations who produce OCOP goods and commercial centers and enterprises both inside and beyond the province... The initiatives described above have helped to promote commerce and development. Developing the district’s consuming market for OCOP goods, assisting in the development of a system for marketing, introducing, and selling OCOP products in the district, expanding trade promotion operations beyond the district, and improving the capability of the management apparatus to operate and execute the OCOP.
In the future, the district will continue to deploy supporting mechanisms and policies in a timely and effective manner; prioritize the integration of capital sources from programs and projects to focus resources on implementation; create motivation to encourage entities to participate in implementing the Program; and develop OCOP products. Promote propaganda and advocacy. Encourage subjects to foster the spirit of initiative, creativity, and product innovation; maintain and enhance the quality of goods that satisfy OCOP criteria; Use OCOP product logos in compliance with the restrictions.
