With the objectives of perfecting a synchronized transport infrastructure framework, strengthening regional connectivity, and expanding the space for socio-economic development, Phu Tho Province is highly concentrating on investment preparation for key transport projects slated to break ground in 2026. The proactive involvement of the Department of Construction, regional Project Management Boards (PMBs), and relevant departments and sectors is identified as the linchpin to guarantee the execution timeline of the province’s driving-force projects.

The Capital Region Ring Road 5 section from IC5 intersection to Vinh Thinh Bridge will finalize its engineering design in the third quarter of 2026.

Currently, the province is rolling out investment preparations for 26 transport projects with a total capital pool of approximately 35,000 billion VND proposed by the Department of Construction and regional PMBs. Breaking down the project portfolios: the Department of Construction proposed 6 projects; the Vinh Phuc Regional PMB proposed 7 projects; the Phu Tho Regional PMB proposed 8 projects; and the Hoa Binh Regional PMB proposed 5 projects.

These portfolios concentrate on constructing expressways link roads, ring roads, urban bypasses, industrial park and tourism zone connectivity, and upgrading provincial roads. This forms a vital bedrock to stimulate socio-economic development and upgrade inter-regional connectivity capacities.

Among the large-scale projects, the standout highlight is the Viet Tri - Hoa Binh Route, which connects the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with the Hoa Binh - Son La Expressway. The project requires a total investment of roughly 15,300 billion VND, executed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model during the 2026–2030 period. Spanning a length of about 56 km, the route features the Vinh Lai Bridge, which is engineered as a modern cable-stayed bridge. This is defined as a driving-force project carrying vital significance in connecting economic and tourism hubs while expanding the province’s developmental headroom.

Concurrently, the investment preparation for the Capital Region Ring Road 5 project—specifically the section from the IC5 intersection to Vinh Thinh Bridge—is being aggressively accelerated. The section spans approximately 21.7 km with a total investment of around 3,360 billion VND sourced from central and local public investment capital.

In tandem with large-scale driving-force projects, Phu Tho Province is heavily concentrating on investment preparations for numerous transport routes linking industrial, urban, and tourism zones. Prominent examples include the construction of Provincial Road 307B (PR.307B)—specifically the section from PR.305 to PR.305C—requiring a total investment of nearly 560 billion VND to link local industrial parks with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway; the Hung Kings' Temple Special National Relic link road connecting the historic site to the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway with an estimated total investment of 770 billion VND; and the link road connecting the IC9 intersection to the Phu Ha Industrial Park, valued at approximately 400 billion VND...

Furthermore, numerous local transport projects, community suspension bridges, and inter-regional connection lines are under active investment preparation. These initiatives not only serve to perfect the transport network but also cultivate highly favorable conditions for trade, industrial and tourism growth, and uplifting local livelihoods.

To guarantee the execution progress of these projects according to the set timeline, the Department of Construction alongside regional PMBs are proactively coordinating with relevant departments and sectors to review zoning master plans, finalize design dossiers, accelerate appraisal speed, and untangle bottlenecks in investment procedures. These units have also petitioned the Provincial People’s Committee to continuously issue drastic directives regarding investment policy approvals, capital allocation, and the timely resolution of emerging hurdles, thereby securing the mandatory conditions to break ground on key transport projects in 2026.

The remaining sections of the road parallel to the Hanoi - Lao Cai railway (Northern and Southern routes) connecting Vinh Yen to Hac Tri Bridge will continuously be deployed for construction in 2026.

According to the Department of Construction, the Viet Tri - Hoa Binh Route project connecting the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with the Hoa Binh - Son La Expressway has captured deep interest from investors who are currently conducting research to participate in its execution.

The Capital Region Ring Road 5 section from IC5 intersection to Vinh Thinh Bridge will finalize its engineering design in Q3/2026 and strives to break ground in Q4/2026. For the remaining lineup, the vast majority of projects are currently in the phases of formulation, investment policy appraisal, or finalizing feasibility study reports. Many projects have been allocated capital for investment preparation and target commencement windows between the third and fourth quarters of 2026.

Mr. Quach Tat Liem—Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee—stated: "Investment preparation work has been executed proactively, methodically, and carried out one step ahead. Currently, the Department of Construction, regional PMBs, and relevant agencies continuously conduct rigorous reviews of zoning plans, perfect project dossiers, and accelerate the speed of appraising and approving investment procedures in strict compliance with regulations, while proactively coordinating to swiftly untangle any difficulties emerging during execution."

The Provincial People’s Committee demands units to construct concrete timelines and progress charts for each specific project and work item. They must proactively balance resources and carefully calculate factors that could fluctuate total investment estimates and execution schedules. Assigning clear accountability and tightening coordination among specialized professional agencies are identified as the vital solutions to guarantee the successful commencement of these projects within 2026.

Driven by the province’s iron determination and the highly responsible, proactive spirit of departments, sectors, and PMBs, the investment preparation for key transport works is being deployed in a synchronized and urgent manner. This will serve as a critical prerequisite for Phu Tho to step-by-step perfect a modern transport infrastructure framework, upgrade regional connectivity capacities, attract investments, and forge a powerful engine driving sustainable socio-economic development in the upcoming era.
