On April 25 (the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month), at the Hung Temple Festival Center (Hung Temple Historic Site), the Phu Tho Provincial Martial Arts Federation organized the 2026 Festival of Cultural Essence and Martial Arts: Returning to the Roots.
This is one of the standout cultural activities, attracting significant interest from residents and tourists during this year’s Hung Kings' Commemoration – Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week.

The Organizing Committee commends the units participating in the Festival.
This year’s festival saw the participation of nearly 1,000 people from 41 units and clubs of culture, sports, and martial arts across the Northern mountainous region and the entire country. In addition to martial arts performances and competitions, the teams also showcased traditional ao dai, folk dances, and modern dance... contributing to the enrichment of Vietnam’s cultural heritage values.
Captivating martial arts demonstrations by grandmasters.
Martial arts clubs bring fluid and visually stunning performances to this year’s Festival.
Concluding with nearly 100 meticulously staged performances, the Organizing Committee awarded medals and prizes to the high-achieving collectives and individuals.
Through the program, units and clubs had the opportunity to exchange, learn, and share experiences in building and developing martial arts. This contributes to the effective implementation of the campaign “All people exercise their bodies following the example of the great Uncle Ho” and the movement "Be strong to start a career and defend the country."
According to the Organizing Committee’s evaluation, the 2026 Festival of Cultural Essence and Martial Arts increased in both scale and the number of participants, creating a martial arts space steeped in culture and history while demonstrating the bravery, wisdom, and martial spirit (tinh thần thượng võ) of the Vietnamese people.

The elaborately staged art performances attract widespread interest from compatriots and tourists.
This event is not only a meaningful spiritual gift for martial arts and art enthusiasts during the 2026 Hung Kings' Commemoration but also contributes to expanding cooperation and exchanges to comprehensively develop culture, sports, and tourism between Phu Tho and other provinces and cities nationwide.
