Highlights of Thanh Thuy Tourism Week - Autumn 2024

With its many unique and ancient historical and cultural sites, including five national heritage sites, Thanh Thuy District has become an attractive destination for spiritual tourism. Additionally, Thanh Thuy is home to rare natural hot springs, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. By leveraging its potential and advantages, the district focuses on implementing measures to develop tourism. Thanh Thuy Tourism Week - Autumn 2024, held from August 31 to September 4, with the theme “To the Green Water Realm,” will feature a range of exciting activities to welcome visitors.

During Tourism Week, a variety of cultural and tourism activities will be held to showcase Thanh Thuy’s unique culture, promote its tourism potential, attract investment, boost tourism demand, and kick off the 2024 tourism season. This annual event provides an opportunity for government agencies and tourism businesses to introduce and promote Thanh Thuy’s tourism potential, products, and advantages, expand markets, build partnerships, and exchange experiences in tourism development.

This year’s Tourism Week also aims to create a joyful and festive atmosphere for the people in celebration of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), and the 25th anniversary of the district’s re-establishment (September 1, 1999 - September 1, 2024). It will recognize and honor the contributions of local authorities and people in building socialism and protecting the homeland.

Vu Duc Kien, Head of the District Department of Culture and Information, stated: “This year’s Tourism Week will feature a new highlight—a street festival program with activities such as: a public art exchange in the evenings of September 1-3 at the ‘Street Music’ stage, alongside various stalls; and a pedestrian area connected with trade and services. Each commune, town, and some local tourism businesses will set up a stall to display, introduce, and sell tourism products, local specialties, agricultural products, and unique cuisine. The pedestrian area will host a total of 40 stalls showcasing OCOP products and regional specialties from August 31 to September 4 on both sides of the road opposite the entrance to Ngoc Xanh Tourism Area.”

The opening ceremony and a welcome art program featuring performances by professional singers, actors, and a light show using drone technology will take place at 8 PM on August 31 at the entrance of Ngoc Xanh Tourism Area. To support the Tourism Week, football tournaments involving local clubs will be held at the Thanh Thuy District Stadium from August 20-30. Various artistic activities at local tourist sites will also occur from August 31 to September 4.

In preparation for Thanh Thuy Tourism Week - Autumn 2024, the district has established an Organizing Committee, assigned specific tasks to relevant agencies and units, and is actively directing the preparation of necessary conditions to ensure a successful and impactful event for tourism development.
