Linkage in agricultural and forestry production

Building a linkage chain is a way to promote high efficiency in modern agricultural production, significantly contributing to the expansion of concentrated production areas and improving economic efficiency in rural areas. For the mountainous district of Tan Son, implementing the linkage chain also promotes the production of specific local products, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction for ethnic minorities in the locality.

Referring to the specific product of Tan Son district, everyone thinks of the famous multiple spur chickens associated with the legend of the time when Hung Kings founded the country. At the end of June 2022, Midland Sunny Co., Ltd. has invested in linking with 11 households in the district to invest in building a project of raising and consuming multiple spur chickens which has the support mechanisms approved by the District People"s Council. Up to now, the chain has gone into stable production. The model currently maintains 550 parent chickens, the number of chickens sold since the beginning of the year has reached nearly 4,500, the number of commercial chickens being raised is nearly 2,500. Currently, commercial multiple spur chickens are being sold at the price of VND 280,000-300,000/kg, so the revenue of the model this year is estimated at over VND 1.3 billion.

In Tan Son area, green tea is also one of the agricultural products that the district focuses on investing in, supporting the building of a linkage chain model. In 2022, the district has supported three models associated with three production areas in Long Coc, Xuan Dai and Van Luong communes. Some tea products of the subjects participating in the model such as Long Coc safe tea processing cooperative, Hoang Van tea processing cooperative thanks to the investment support of the province and district in planting, caring and processing techniques, machinery, equipment, labels... have been certified by the Provincial People"s Committee to achieve OCOP product quality of three stars or more. Products of the models have been introduced by the district to participate in many trade promotion programs inside and outside the province, and are appreciated by customers for good quality. Since the beginning of the year, the above models have provided the market with more than eight tons of safe, high-quality green tea, bringing in revenue of over VND 2.5 billion. Currently, the subjects of the models are continuing to bring more specialty tea varieties into production and expand the raw material area.

In recent years, the transformation and new planting of concentrated large timber and cinnamon forests are also among the chains that Tan Son focuses on investing in. In 2022, the whole district has converted nearly 100 hectares of small timber forests into concentrated large timber forests, planted over 570 hectares of large timber forests, and prepared to plant nearly 100 hectares of cinnamon.

Mr. Hoang Van Dung - Deputy Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: The building of a linkage chain in agricultural production has been identified by the District Party Committee, People“s Council and People”s Committee as one of the important contents in order to change the habits of local people in the direction of concentrated production and sustainable poverty reduction. For the models being implemented, the District People"s Committee will organize a review, assessment, and experience to further replicate the model to other localities in the district, exploiting the advantages of key typical agricultural and forestry products of the locality.
