At the meeting, leadership of Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital presented a general report on the organizational structure and operation of the hospital; current difficulties, entanglements, proposals, and key tasks and solutions in the upcoming period.

Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital is a Class I public health unit, playing a top-tier role in medical examination and treatment within the province. It assumes functions including emergency care, treatment, training, scientific research, technical guidance for lower-level facilities, and technology transfer.

In 2026, the hospital was assigned a target of 1,750 hospital beds by the Provincial People’s Committee, an increase of 250 beds compared to 2025. Currently, the hospital consists of 42 departments, rooms, and centers, with a total staff of 1,593 cadres, public employees, and workers—including 424 doctors (accounting for 26.6%).

During the first 8 months of 2026, the total number of medical examination and treatment visits reached 300,667, achieving 115% compared to the same period in 2025; total inpatient admissions stood at 79,121 visits. The hospital performed 10,768 surgeries, including 3,896 special-category surgical cases. Under conditions of large-scale operations and increasingly high technical demands, the hospital has made great efforts in management, operation, specialized technique development, and elevating examination and treatment quality, affirming its role as the top-tier hospital and core healthcare facility of the province.

At this juncture, the Provincial Chairman requested the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the entire hospital staff to maintain unity, solidarity, organizational stability, and strict discipline; preventing any disruption to professional activities or negative impact on patient rights.

It must ensure continuous, safe, and quality hospital operations; fully maintain emergency duty, medicine, chemicals, medical supplies, blood, equipment, and serving conditions; preventing any shortages of pharmaceuticals or medical supplies.

In particular, he requested the hospital to continue developing specialized techniques and elevating service quality; enhancing unity within executive leadership with clear and reasonable work assignments; and placing common tasks and hospital stability and growth above all. All hospital activities must be conducted strictly within authority, procedures, and legal regulations, ensuring openness and transparency.

Emphasizing new requirements for medical examination and treatment in the upcoming period, the Provincial Chairman directed Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital not only to excel at examination and treatment but also to fulfill line-guidance functions, transfer techniques, and elevate medical care quality for lower-tier facilities in the region—opening up numerous opportunities for local residents to access advanced medical techniques. This serves as an important premise for Phu Tho Provincial General Hospital to expand and upgrade into a Special Class hospital, undertaking regional functions for the Northern Midland and Mountainous region.
