Requesting SK Group to Continue Expanding Investment Projects in Phu Tho

Continuing the working agenda in South Korea within the framework of the official visit by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, Mr. Tran Duy Dong—Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee—held a working session with the leadership of SK Group (South Korea) to step up cooperation in the coming time.

As of the end of June 2026, there are 747 valid FDI projects in Phu Tho province with a total investment capital of 15 billion USD. Among these, investors from South Korea lead both in the number of projects and capital scale, with 386 projects totaling 5.63 billion USD in investment capital.

The projects are concentrated primarily in the manufacturing of electrical and electronic components and supporting products, acting as vital links in the global supply chains of major corporations such as Apple, LG, Samsung, and Intel...

SK Group is one of South Korea’s largest multinational conglomerates, with hundreds of member companies operating globally, focusing on core values such as semiconductors, telecommunications, technology, energy, and chemicals... Currently, SK Group is pivoting toward fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and clean energy.

In Phu Tho, SK Group invested in the ISCVina Manufacturing Plant Project at Ba Thien II Industrial Park. Operating since April 2018 with a total investment of 42.35 million USD across an area of nearly 20,000 square meters, the plant specializes in manufacturing and processing high-tech equipment and components for the semiconductor industry, such as POGO Pins, high-end PCB circuit boards, and precision molds.

The project maintains steady growth momentum, achieving 36.23 million USD in revenue in 2025 (exports reaching 36.63 million USD, budget contribution standing at 1.11 million USD) and 19.82 million USD in the first six months of 2026. Beyond economic efficiency, the factory provides regular employment for nearly 900 workers with an average income of over 14 million VND per person per month.

During the working session, Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Tran Duy Dong requested SK Group to continue paying attention to and researching the expansion of investment projects in the locality, giving particular priority to projects in the semiconductor industry and key areas where the group possesses expertise.

The working session took place in an open and substantive atmosphere, unlocking numerous new cooperation opportunities and contributing to further strengthening the friendly relations and economic cooperation between Phu Tho province and major South Korean partners and corporations in its high-tech industrial development strategy.
