Opening of the Bac Cung Temple Spring Festival 2026

On the morning of February 22 (the 6th day of the first lunar month), Bac Cung Temple (also known as Thinh Temple) in Tam Hong Commune solemnly held the opening ceremony for the Spring Festival 2026.

Ms. Bui Thi Thu Hang – Chairwoman of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and other delegates attend the opening ceremony.

Bac Cung Temple is a National Historic Relic dedicated to Tan Vien Son Thanh (the Mountain God Tan Vien), the leading figure among the “Four Immortals” in Vietnamese folk belief. According to historical records and folk legends, He contributed greatly to water control, teaching the people how to grow rice and weave silk, and protecting the nation. Over centuries, the temple has become a spiritual symbol of the locality, where people entrust their prayers for national peace, favorable weather, and bountiful harvests.

The Bac Cung Temple Festival is held annually to commemorate and honor the merits of Saint Tan Vien. It also aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural heritage, educate the public on the principle of “When drinking water, remember its source,” and strengthen great national unity. In recent years, the restoration of the relic and the organization of the festival have become increasingly well-regulated, ensuring a solemn, safe, and civilized environment.

Following the opening speech, the ceremonies of bell-ringing and festival-opening drumming were performed, followed by a formal incense offering at the temple courtyard. Subsequently, the Organizing Committee launched various cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, including volleyball, air volleyball, tug-of-war, Chinese chess, and wrestling, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere for the early spring days.
