Q1/2026: Phu Tho GRDP Grows Over 10.5%, FDI Attraction Increases 7-Fold Over the Same Period

On the afternoon of April 1, under the chairmanship of Mr. Pham Dai Duong – Member of the Party Central Committee and Provincial Party Secretary – the Provincial Party Standing Committee held a meeting to evaluate the implementation of political, economic, and social tasks in Q1 and deploy key orientations for Q2/2026.

In Q1/2026, Phu Tho successfully organized the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, with a record voter turnout of 99.91%.

Under drastic leadership, the provincial economy maintained strong momentum with an estimated GRDP growth of over 10.5%, exceeding the target assigned by the Government. This reflects a comprehensive recovery in the Industry-Construction sector (up 16.65%) and the strong appeal of the investment environment, with FDI reaching 704 million USD, 7 times higher than the same period last year. Additionally, administrative reform and digital transformation marked significant milestones, with 5G coverage reaching 100% of communal centers and a 91% online document processing rate.

In the social sector, Phu Tho ranked 3rd nationwide in the national excellent student competition. National defense and security were maintained, fulfilling 100% of the 2026 military recruitment quota.

Provincial Party Secretary Pham Dai Duong requested all levels and sectors to follow the conclusions of the 2nd Central Conference to realize “double-digit” growth targets. Amidst global fluctuations, he directed a focus on market orientation and the promotion of “green lane” mechanisms to create breakthroughs in administrative procedures.

Beside resolving difficulties for key industrial products, the province is determined to handle outstanding projects, definitively settle surplus public assets, and accelerate the progress of key transport infrastructure works.

Parallel to economic development, the organization of the 2026 Hung Kings Memorial Day - Hung Temple Festival must be prioritized in association with cultural and people-to-people diplomacy programs. The province continues to effectively implement projects on education, healthcare, and digital transformation to improve people’s quality of life, striving to maintain the double-digit growth target in the new era.

Regarding the proposal for the implementation of the Real-time Task Tracking and Supervision System for agencies within the provincial political system, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and commended the efforts of the Provincial Party Office for completing the construction and installation of the System at the Provincial Party Committee Data Center and organizing trial operations. The Provincial Party Standing Committee unified the policy for the official deployment of the system and assigned the Provincial Party Office to advise the Standing Committee on issuing Regulations for the management and use of the System across agencies and units in the provincial political system.

Overview of the conference.

At the conference, the Standing Committee also discussed and unified the supplementation of the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, 2025-2030 tenure; and provided opinions on the Working Program of the Provincial Party Standing Committee with communes and wards in the province for the 2025-2030 term.

Regarding the policy of financial support for the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association of Phu Tho province to organize its Congress and 2026 activities; the support for Dai Dinh Commune People’s Committee to organize the 2026 Tay Thien Spring Festival; and the support for the Provincial Military Command to organize the 2026 military handover ceremony, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Party Unit of the Provincial People’s Committee to implement these in accordance with regulations.

Regarding the Draft Plan to implement Directive No. 03 of the Secretariat on strengthening Party leadership over the management and development of construction materials in the new period; and the draft Directive on strengthening Party leadership over the struggle to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights violations through 2030, the Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Department of Construction and Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant agencies for further specific review. Members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee will continue to study and contribute detailed opinions to finalize the documents. The Provincial People’s Council, based on practical situations, will proactively study and issue appropriate and timely policies to ensure the Party’s directives and plans soon come into life, creating positive changes in construction material management and stabilizing the local domestic market.

Also within the conference program, the Provincial Party Standing Committee heard the Provincial Party Organization Commission report on personnel work and provided opinions on several contents under its authority.
