Phu Tho Expands External Relations Space, Drives Investment Cooperation, and Promotes the Locality in Europe

Implementing the 2026 foreign affairs program, from August 22 to August 31, 2026, a delegation from Phu Tho Province led by Comrade Bui Van Quang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, paid a friendly visit and organized investment promotion, trade, and local promotion activities in the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of Belgium, and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Joining the delegation were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Bui Dinh Thi, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission; Luong Duc Minh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Education Commission; Nguyen Duc Dung, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Hoa Binh Ward; along with leaders from several provincial departments, agencies, localities, and units.

The working trip aimed to continue expanding external relations, proactively engaging in international integration, and mobilizing new resources to serve the local socio-economic development.

Expanding Economic Cooperation and Promoting Supply Chains with Italian Partners

In the Italian Republic, the delegation held a working session with the Italy-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CCIV) and its member enterprises.

At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Van Quang gave an overview of Phu Tho’s potential, advantages, and investment attraction directions. He requested that CCIV continue acting as a bridge to connect provincial enterprises to participate more deeply in global value and supply chains, while supporting the promotion of Phu Tho’s key product brands in the European market.

Also within the framework of the working trip, the delegation surveyed the outlet retail model in Serravalle to study experience in developing services linked with tourism.

Visiting and working at the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Van Quang introduced the province’s competitive advantages and potential in the new era. On that basis, he requested the Embassy to continue fulfilling its role as a diplomatic bridge, actively supporting Phu Tho in expanding local-level links, stepping up investment and trade promotion, and promoting the image and cultural values of the Ancestral Land to Italian partners.

Promoting Green Growth and Agricultural Digital Transformation Cooperation in Belgium

In the Kingdom of Belgium, the delegation worked with the government of the Flanders Region. Exchanging with Mr. Danny Van den Bossche, Head of the Advisory, Policy and Agricultural Research Division of the Flanders Region, both sides discussed high-tech agricultural development, applications of artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and precision agricultural resource management solutions. Phu Tho wishes to learn from Flanders' experience in building circular economy models and closed-loop linkage chains resilient to climate change.

Working with the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Belgium and Luxembourg (ViLaB), the delegation noted strategic cooperation proposals regarding smart cities, specialized healthcare, and heritage tourism, aiming to connect international expert networks to help Phu Tho businesses access the EU market.

Receiving and working with the delegation at the embassy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Belgium, concurrently accredited to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of the Delegation of Vietnam to the European Union (EU), Nguyen Huong Tra, affirmed that the Embassy is always ready to accompany and support Phu Tho Province in connecting local cooperation and promoting investment and trade in Belgium and the European region.

Connecting Businesses and Overseas Vietnamese in Germany

In the Federal Republic of Germany, the delegation visited and worked with the multinational corporation Bayer AG in Berlin. Comrade Bui Van Quang requested the corporation to explore cooperation opportunities and support high-tech applications to enhance productivity and quality while reducing emissions for key local fruit crops such as pomelo, banana, and orange.

Visiting the Dong Xuan Center and the overseas Vietnamese community in Berlin, the delegation inquired about the lives of Vietnamese expatriates in Germany while encouraging Vietnamese-overseas entrepreneurs to actively serve as a bridge bringing investment, trade, and tourism resources toward building an increasingly developed homeland in Phu Tho.

During the working session with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Federal Republic of Germany Nguyen Dac Thanh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Bui Van Quang and the delegation held in-depth discussions on solutions to maximize science-technology and economic resources from German partners. Both sides agreed on methods to connect business communities and economic organizations, leveraging the role of overseas Vietnamese as a bridge to serve provincial development.

The working trip to three European countries by Phu Tho’s leadership delegation achieved practical and comprehensive results. Through methodical implementation combining political, economic, and cultural diplomacy, Phu Tho gained further opportunities to expand cooperation and promote its image as a locality featuring broad development space, synchronized connectivity infrastructure, and an open, safe investment environment.

To maximize the results achieved, the province continues to closely direct departments and agencies to proactively maintain contact, concretize discussed contents and memorandums, and remain determined to turn external commitments into specific investment projects and technology transfer programs.
