First launched by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2013, the National Science and Technology Competition for middle and high school students has since become an annual event held in the second semester of each academic year. In the 2024-2025 edition, the competition attracted participants from 62 out of 63 provincial Departments of Education and Training, along with 12 institutions, including universities, colleges, and research institutes affiliated with high schools and ministerial agencies.

This year, a total of 212 projects competed, comprising 23 individual projects and 189 group projects. Among them, 190 were developed by high school students and 22 by middle school students.

From the winning entries, the Ministry of Education and Training will select the most outstanding projects to represent Vietnam at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) for high school students, scheduled for May 2025 in the United States.

The competition serves as a valuable platform for students to engage in scientific research, showcase their abilities, and foster creativity in science and technology. It not only encourages the application of scientific knowledge to real-world challenges but also contributes to national development.
