A number of Famtrip programs to Phu Tho have been implemented in recent years. Famtrip partners are mostly travel agencies or press excursions. When visiting Phu Tho, famtrip groups frequently focus on learning about the destination’s services, accommodations, infrastructure, tourism products, and networking opportunities, etc.
From the beginning of the year untill now, the tourist industry in the province has conducted four Famtrip programs with themes concentrating on traditional tourism goods and new tourism products with development potential, such as community tourism and rural agriculture.
Tan Son district’s Xuan Son National Park, as one of the community tourist attractions that routinely receives famtrip groups, is increasingly asserting its position on Vietnam’s tourism map. “Through famtrip groups, we have the opportunity to promote destinations and reach a large number of travel businesses,” said Ms. Ha Thi Yen, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district. The direct meeting and exchange sought to examine the potential, constraints, and future directions for developing Xuan Son’s tourism offerings. And it allows us to get closer to the tastes and wants of travelers in order to continue to develop our offerings."
In fact, arranging Famtrip groups will assist travel businesses in gaining an understanding of the destination and the quality of service before offering products to customers. Furthermore, Famtrip trips will provide opportunity for partners to meet, develop acceptable travel products, debate price policies, tour programs, and design suitable tour programs, service suppliers and demand, etc. Currently, the concept of smart tourism, which uses digital technology to deliver the most comfortable services for travelers, is an unavoidable trend. Thereby, tourism businesses have the opportunity to consult and learn from each other, specifically carrying out communication activities in advertising and promoting tourism, while improving the quality of tourism products and services, bringing the best experiences to visitors. Besides, Famtrip will help tourism businesses evaluate the reality and potential of the destination.
Not only have businesses been proactive in developing the Famtrip program, but towns have also been aware of and taken advantage of these chances to boost tourism. Famtrip trips will actively and widely disseminate information about the destination on social networking sites, newspapers, and so on. This is regarded as one of the province’s tourism communication solutions, with a wide reach but low cost; so that the province’s tourism may reach tourists and investors, opening up prospects for cooperation and development.
It is clear that attraction and promotion strategies have aided the province’s tourism economy in its recovery and growth following the outbreak. In 2023, the number of visitors staying in Phu Tho province is expected to reach 776,000 (of whom 8,860 are foreign visitors), with 860,400 visitor days (international visitors reaching 16,500 visitor days), representing a 15% increase over 2022. Total revenue from tourism services is expected to reach VND 3,365 billion, a 27% increase over 2022.
In the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to focus on promoting tourism promotion activities, creating conditions for connecting units to experience and survey in the province. In particular, maintain close links with partners to build and develop tour programs to bring visitors to Phu Tho, creating many opportunities to promote and attract visitors to the Fatherland.
