Provincial Chairman Tran Duy Dong Visits and Works with Geely Holding Group

As part of a series of investment promotion activities in China from April 12 to 17, on the afternoon of April 12, a provincial delegation led by Mr. Tran Duy Dong — Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee — visited and worked at the headquarters of Geely Holding Group.

The delegation was received by Mr. Andy An, CEO of Geely Holding Group; Mr. Gui Shengyue, CEO of Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd.; along with senior executives from the Group and its subsidiary companies.

During the working session, Chairman Tran Duy Dong highlighted the strategic strengths of Phu Tho province, emphasizing its role as a regional gateway with synchronized transportation infrastructure and a transparent investment environment. He specifically focused on the province’s priority sectors, including high technology, green industry, and smart manufacturing, which serve as the foundation for sustainable development.

Representatives from Geely Holding Group — one of the world’s leading automotive enterprises — presented their “Smart Geely” strategy. This vision focuses on electric vehicle (EV) development, digital transformation, and the Group’s international investment expansion plans in the near future.

Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the feasibility of establishing an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Phu Tho. Key topics included industrial park infrastructure, available “clean” land funds, the quality of local human resources, and the province’s specific investment incentive policies.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong reaffirmed that Phu Tho is committed to accompanying the Group and providing the most favorable conditions to ensure its projects are implemented swiftly and effectively.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation toured the actual production lines and observed Geely’s smart factory operational model.

The successful session opens up prospects for attracting large-scale projects in the EV industry, contributing to enhancing Phu Tho’s position on the international investment map and supporting its goal of becoming a high-tech industrial hub in the region.
