Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong delivers his welcoming remarks at the conference.

In his opening speech, Chairman Tran Duy Dong emphasized that Phu Tho is proud to be among the localities receiving strong attention and investment from the Republic of Korea. As of September 2025, Phu Tho had attracted 725 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of nearly USD 13 billion. Among them, Korea remains the largest investor, with 380 projects and a total registered capital of approximately USD 5 billion.

Korean-invested projects have been operating effectively, generating stable employment for nearly 200,000 workers, with an average monthly income of VND 11–12 million. These contributions not only bring significant economic value but also play an important role in social stability, community development, and improving the quality of life for local residents.

Provincial leaders, representatives of the Korean Embassy, and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on investment promotion between the Provincial Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support Center and Lee & Ko Vietnam LLC.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong affirmed that to attract high-quality and sustainable FDI projects, close coordination among local authorities, business associations, and investors is essential. Phu Tho is ready to establish a regular dialogue mechanism between the government and enterprises, and has designated the Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support Center as the focal agency responsible for handling investment procedures, identifying and resolving difficulties faced by Korean investors during project implementation. The province also looks forward to enhancing cooperation with KOTRA and KOCHAM to strengthen on-site investment promotion, support business expansion, and foster connections between Korean and Vietnamese enterprises in Phu Tho.

Reaffirming the principle that “The success of investors is the success of the locality,” Chairman Tran Duy Dong stated that Phu Tho is committed to building a friendly, transparent, competitive, and stable investment environment. The province continues to push for administrative reform and digital transformation in public service delivery, while accompanying and supporting Korean enterprises to expand their investment and operate sustainably in Phu Tho.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong expressed his hope for continued attention and support from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, the Korea Trade–Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM), and the broader Korean business community in the journey ahead.

During the conference, representatives of Korean agencies, organizations, and enterprises, together with the Provincial Business Association, discussed cooperation in socio-economic development, environmental protection, investment policies and opportunities in Phu Tho. They shared their needs, expectations, and challenges encountered in business operations and proposed practical solutions to enhance investment efficiency and bilateral cooperation.
