On January 3, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held an online conference summarizing tasks for 2023 and implementing plans for 2024.
In 2023, GDP growth of the entire Agriculture sector reached 3.83%, the highest since 2019; Total agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover reached over 53 billion USD, trade surplus reached over 12.07 billion USD, the highest ever.
In 2024, the Agriculture and Rural Development sector sets a target for the entire sector’s GDP growth rate to reach 3% or more; Agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover to reach 54 billion USD or more; The rate of communes meeting new rural standards to be 80%, the rate of communes meeting environmental and food safety criteria to be over 82%. The rate of rural households using clean water according to standards to reach 58%...
