Support for putting products on e-commerce platforms

In recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has implemented many solutions to support enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments to put products participating in the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program and typical products of the province on e-commerce platforms, contributing to promoting production and business and expanding the consumption market.

Freeze-dried ginseng tea products, Maika Matcha tea powder, brown rice Sencha tea... of Maika Food Company Limited, Xuan Loc commune, Thanh Thuy district, are available on Shopee and Lazada e-commerce platforms.

Currently, online shopping has become popular with consumers in the province, and the proportion of customers ordering products through e-commerce channels is increasing. Grasping market trends and consumer needs, the Department of Industry and Trade has assessed the current status and capacity to apply information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion activities of enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments; deployed the construction of a database system, including information on markets, industries, information on enterprises, cooperatives, and business households producing and trading key products of the province; guided and supported participation in training courses to improve the capacity of applying information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion; supported the integration of digital technology...

From 2022 to present, the Department has supported enterprises, cooperatives, production facilities, and OCOP entities in the province to post information and images of OCOP products on the e-commerce trading floor at giaothuong.net.vn. Up to now, the floor has had 330 booths with 990 products and services.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade also supports and advises enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province to participate in promoting and introducing products on national e-commerce platforms such as Lazada.vn, Shopee, etc. These are all reputable distribution channels with high access, helping to promote and increase the efficiency of commercial activities.

For example, in 2023, the Department of Industry and Trade supported 5 enterprises, cooperatives, and production facilities to set up Shopee e-commerce booths with a total of 30 products, including: green tea products of UT Tea Investment and Development Company Limited; grapefruit and grapefruit products of Hung Xuyen Agricultural Cooperative; Thach De rice noodles of Hung Viet Agricultural Cooperative; herbal tea of Lien Hoa Chi Production and Trading Cooperative; and nutritional seed products of NUT GROUP Production and Trading Joint Stock Company.

As one of the units supported to design 7 products on the Shopee e-commerce platform in 2023, up to now, Lien Hoa Chi Production and Trading Cooperative, Tu Xa commune, Lam Thao district, has successfully developed a “multi-channel” sales model.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Nhung, Deputy Director of the Cooperative, said: "With the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and local authorities, we have brought the Cooperative’s key products, such as perilla tea, pennywort tea, red ginseng lotus leaf tea... to the province’s e-commerce platform and national e-commerce platforms. Thanks to that, the number of people knowing about the products is increasing. Currently, the cooperative has signed over 60 product consumption contracts, including 2 export contracts to the Chinese and Greek markets with a quantity of 20,000 boxes, linked to open 105 agents in 50 provinces and cities. On average, each month, the cooperative has consumed about 5,000 boxes of various types of tea.".

Along with supporting the development of e-commerce applications and digital transformation in trade promotion activities, the Department also regularly organizes propaganda activities, disseminates knowledge about the legal basis, current documents in information technology applications, and digital transformation; trains and guides e-commerce application skills such as: how to register a sales account, a store account, operating activities on the e-commerce platform; how to promote, write product introductions, post images, and product descriptions...

To continue supporting businesses, cooperatives, and production establishments to bring products to the e-commerce platform, in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade will maintain and effectively operate the provincial e-commerce trading floor, giaothuong.net.vn; proactively coordinate with specialized units and agencies to promote propaganda, guidance, and training in digital skills and skills to participate in activities in the digital environment; and support the application of digital tools and platforms in promoting, building, and developing product brands, contributing to expanding the consumer market and enhancing product value.
