Mr. Nakano Keita, General Director of Toyota Motor Vietnam, delivered a speech at the “30-Year Journey of Localization and Supporting Industry Development” event.
The event provided TMV with an opportunity to reflect on its efforts to promote localization, develop supporting industries, and share its sustainable development strategy for the next stage. Over the past three decades, Vietnam has consistently been one of Toyota’s strategic markets. The company has been making continuous contributions to the development of Vietnam’s automobile industry while strengthening its domestic supplier network.
To date, Toyota Vietnam has achieved significant milestones: 61 suppliers, including 13 domestic ones; more than 1,000 localized components exported to over 10 countries; and a total export revenue of nearly USD 1 billion.
Through cooperation programs with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and various associations, Toyota has implemented numerous projects to enhance the capabilities of Vietnamese enterprises. By the end of 2024, 29 domestic enterprises will have received support from Toyota. Most of these companies have achieved Level 3 in the 5S standard after undergoing improvement consultations.
