On the afternoon of August 14, Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee, held a working session with a delegation from Amata Group (Thailand) led by Mrs. Somhatai Panichewa, the Group’s Chief Executive Officer.
Overview of the working session
Chairman Tran Duy Dong welcomed Mrs. Somhatai Panichewa and the Amata delegation to invest in Phu Tho. Appreciating the projects the Group has implemented in Vietnam, he requested Amata to concretize the strategic Memorandum of Understanding signed between Phu Tho province and the Group, particularly the investment in developing the Doan Hung Industrial Park, which is being actively advanced with an orientation to develop into a smart-city model in Tay Coc and Doan Hung.

On behalf of Amata Group, Mrs. Somhatai Panichewa presented the Group’s investment studies and proposed projects in Phu Tho; introduced the 1/2,000-scale subdivision zoning plan for the Doan Hung Industrial Park; outlined subsequent implementation steps; and expressed the desire to obtain the Investment Registration Certificate in October this year, on the occasion of a visit to Vietnam by Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Chairman of Amata Group.
At the meeting, Chairman Tran Duy Dong, leaders of Amata Group, and heads of relevant provincial departments discussed and clarified the Group’s proposals, recommendations concerning project implementation.
Chairman Tran Duy Dong emphasized that Phu Tho has new development space, especially in urban–industrial–service development. The province will select an international consulting firm to plan its development space. Accordingly, Phu Tho expects the Group to invest in a high-tech industrial park and develop supporting industries in line with the province’s development orientations and current regulations.
Affirming that the Group will receive the Investment Registration Certificate in early October, the Chairman assigned the Provincial Management Board of Industrial Parks to act as the focal point; requested departments to coordinate in solving difficulties and guiding the investor to complete related procedures; and stated that the 1/2,000-scale subdivision zoning plan would be approved by August 31. At the same time, procedures related to the approval of the project’s investment policy; approval of the investment policy (IPA); issuance of the Investment Registration Certificate (IRC); completion of enterprise registration; and on-site project implementation would be finalized.
During the session, Chairman Tran Duy Dong also connected online with Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Chairman of Amata Group, in Thailand. The two sides discussed opportunities for investment cooperation in various fields, particularly Amata’s idea of building a smart city in Phu Tho.
