Leveraging advantages in soil conditions, climate, and production experience, over 500 hectares of tea and nearly 800 hectares of pomelos are becoming key crops, contributing to raising incomes for residents in Bang Luan commune. Facing increasingly high market demands, the locality is focusing on managing, maintaining, and maximizing the efficiency of growing area codes, step-by-step elevating agricultural product quality, expanding consumption markets, especially export markets.
To date, Bang Luan commune has been granted 6 growing area codes for pomelos, including 2 growing area codes for pomelos serving exports to the Russian Federation and the United States, alongside 3 growing area codes for tea. This serves as an important condition for local pomelo and tea products to meet origin traceability requirements and quality control, gradually affirming prestige in the market.

Leaders of Bang Luan commune discuss growing area code management and granting with specialized sectors.
Granting growing area codes not only opens additional opportunities for product consumption but also imposes higher requirements on residents and cooperatives during production organization. From caretaking, fertilizer usage, and plant protection chemicals to harvesting, primary processing, and preservation, all steps must comply with regulations to ensure products maintain uniform quality and safety for consumers.
As one of the units certified with a growing area code for pomelos, the Bang Luan Specialty Pomelo Production and Business Service Cooperative is actively guiding members to maintain production processes according to requirements.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Minh, Director of the Cooperative, shared: The cooperative was granted 3 growing area codes for pomelos, including 2 codes serving exports. This creates favorable conditions for the cooperative’s pomelo products to access high-demand markets, while serving as motivation for members to shift production methods toward a more professional, safe, and sustainable direction.
Since the growing area was granted a code, cooperative members have received specific guidance on production processes, thereby contributing to shifting people’s production mindsets. A growing area code is not merely a “ticket” to bring agricultural produce to market, but a tool to manage the entire production process, creating transparency regarding product origin.
Mr. Do Chi Thanh, Deputy Director of the Bang Luan Commune Public Service Center, stated: “To maintain and elevate the efficiency of growing area codes, propaganda work and guiding residents to comply with production processes play an exceptionally important role. After receiving codes, growing areas must continue to be managed, monitored, inspected, and supervised to ensure criteria meet statutory regulations. In addition, residents need to raise awareness in using safe agricultural supplies, keeping production logs, and strictly executing origin traceability requirements.”
In particular, with nearly 800 hectares of pomelo area, Bang Luan holds numerous advantages to develop commercial pomelo zones linked with brand building. However, to exploit this potential well, expanding coded growing areas must go hand-in-hand with strict quality management. Each participating household must realize that they are not only producing for their family, but also contributing to building the overall prestige of the entire region.

An area of over 500 hectares of tea also creates room for the commune to develop products toward commercial production, elevating value. The three granted tea growing area codes serve as the basis for the locality to continue standardizing production processes, aiming toward expanding consumption markets. Good control over raw material sources from growing areas helps processing facilities elevate product quality, increase competitiveness, and build the Bang Luan tea brand in the market.
In the coming time, Bang Luan commune will continue coordinating with specialized agencies to strengthen guidance and inspection of process execution in coded areas; mobilizing residents to expand production safely, apply scientific and technological advancements, and rationally use fertilizers and plant protection chemicals. Cooperatives are encouraged to leverage their linking role, gathering farmers, organizing uniform production, and connecting with enterprises for product consumption.
Along with this, maintaining growing area codes must be tied to brand building and elevating agricultural product value. When products possess clear origins, controlled production processes, and guaranteed quality, Bang Luan agricultural produce will gain added competitive advantages, especially in high-demand markets.
From the granted growing area codes, Bang Luan is step-by-step transitioning from traditional agricultural production to controlled commercial production. This is not only a solution to elevate the value of pomelo and tea crops, but also creates a foundation for residents to alter production methods and proactively meet market demands. Effective management of growing area codes is thus becoming a key task, contributing to building local agriculture in a safe, transparent, and sustainable direction.
