Before leaving for Laos to compete in the opening match of the Southeast Asian Football Championship (ASEAN Cup 2024), on the morning of December 5, the Vietnam National Men’s Football Team, led by Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation—offered incense to commemorate the Hung Kings at the Hung King Temple Historical Site.
The delegates offered incense to commemorate the Hung Kings at the Thuong Palace.
At the Kinh Thien Palace on the top of Nghia Linh Mountain, the delegates, along with the coaching staff and players of the Vietnam National Team, respectfully offered incense to commemorate the Hung Kings, who had contributed to the founding of the country, and reported on the achievements that the team had achieved in the past.
The delegates, the coaching staff, and the Vietnamese players offered incense at the Kinh Thien Palace on the top of Nghia Linh Mountain.
In front of the Hung Kings' spirits, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players vow to unite, actively practice, and compete with all their might for the national flag and colors at the 2024 ASEAN Cup to bring the people of the whole country and fans of the homeland exciting matches. In particular, the Vietnam Team will have 2 home matches at Viet Tri Stadium against the Indonesian Team at 8:00 p.m. on December 15 and against the Myanmar Team also at 8:00 p.m. on December 21.

Sharing with the media at the Hung King Temple Historical Site, Head Coach of the Vietnam National Team Kim Sang Sik shared: During the training session in Korea, we also spent time visiting a temple there. And today, when I offer incense to commemorate the Hung Kings, I see that both Vietnam and Korea have quite similar spiritual cultures. Through today’s incense offering, we will have more pride in our national traditions, and the players will also have a more united spirit to be able to compete well, contributing to completing the set goals at this year’s ASEAN Cup.
