Welcoming Home the Male Student Awarded Silver Medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad upon His Return from South Korea

On the afternoon of May 25, at Noi Bai International Airport, the Department of Education and Training, in collaboration with Hung Vuong Gifted High School, organized a welcoming ceremony for Phan Tuan Dung—a 12th-grade physics major student. He returned from Busan (South Korea) after brilliantly capturing a Silver Medal at the 26th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2026).

Imbued with a joyful and proud atmosphere, leaders from the Department of Education and Training, the school’s Board of Management, teachers, family relatives, and a large crowd of students gathered early to celebrate the impressive achievement recorded by Phan Tuan Dung.

This year’s Asian Physics Olympiad drew the participation of 28 delegations representing 27 countries and territories. The Vietnamese national team comprised 8 competing students, all of whom successfully secured medals. Phan Tuan Dung was the sole student from Phu Tho Province to join the national squad and brilliantly claimed the Silver Medal. This achievement continuously extends the high-performing tradition of Hung Vuong Gifted High School’s students at regional and international academic competitions.

Prior to this global milestone, Phan Tuan Dung had outstandingly clinched a First National Prize in Physics and secured a Silver Medal at the 2025 Nordic-Baltic Physics Olympiad. His achievement serves not only as a profound source of pride for his family and school but firmly reaffirms the premium quality of the province’s elite education sector. It simultaneously acts as a powerful catalyst, inspiring students province-wide to continuously strive in their academic journeys and conquer international arenas of knowledge.
