The merger of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, and Hoa Binh provinces is far more than a simple addition of area or population. It represents a “grand strategic master plan” designed to expand scale and optimize resources for sustainable development, with a primary focus on creating a new industrial driving axis. On this foundation, Phu Tho is emerging as a magnet for billion-dollar capital flows and a model for green growth.
Exedy Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Khai Quang Industrial Park) provides employment for 260 workers with an average income of over 11 million VND per month.
Post-merger, Phu Tho province boasts 58 planned industrial parks (IPs) covering a total area of approximately 14,055 hectares. This constitutes a massive advantage—a “clean land fund” that few localities possess as industrial land nationwide becomes increasingly scarce. Currently, 17 operational IPs have already established a dynamic industrial belt.
The merger has integrated the industrial strengths of all three regions. From the former Vinh Phuc—the industrial “capital” of the North—come modern IPs such as Khai Quang, Binh Xuyen, Thang Long Vinh Phuc, and Ba Thien, which attract high-quality FDI in electronics and international automotive assembly. From the former Hoa Binh, IPs like Luong Son and Bo Trai Song Da provide a robust logistics corridor and new material production. Meanwhile, the original Phu Tho IPs—Thuy Van, Trung Ha, Phu Ha, and Cam Khe—continue their role as hubs connecting raw material regions, creating perfect inter-regional economic synergy.
The appeal of Phu Tho is reflected in the unwavering confidence of international investors. Despite global economic fluctuations, in 2025, the province’s investment attraction surged with 75 newly licensed projects and 101 capital adjustments. Notably, the FDI sector attracted over 1.063 billion USD, bringing the province’s cumulative total to 857 active projects within IPs, with a total investment of nearly 10 billion USD.
For the 2026–2030 period, Phu Tho views industrial development not merely as a matter of scale, but as a qualitative revolution focused on a “green and sustainable” path. Aspiring to become the green industrial and knowledge-economy center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains, the province is mobilizing all resources to realize post-merger strategic plans linked to regional connectivity and Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing ecosystems.
This spirit of innovation is solidified by a firm “no” to projects posing environmental risks. Instead, the province is clearing the way for high-tech industries, precision engineering, semiconductors, and renewable energy. To create a breakthrough, Phu Tho is implementing a comprehensive reform campaign to optimize the investment environment, establishing administrative “Green Lanes” to minimize procedures for businesses. Beyond existing advantages, the province affirms its role as a partner through capital incentives, modern 5G infrastructure support, and solutions for high-quality human resources.
With a vision to become a vital growth pole of the Capital Region by 2030 and a centrally-run city by 2045, the Ancestral Land today demonstrates a powerful ambition in a new era. The harmony between government policy and the business community’s consensus serves as the driving force for Phu Tho to not only preserve its cultural roots but also become a paragon of modernity, dynamism, and sustainable development.
