In the first six months of 2024, the province’s socio-economy maintained stability and achieved many positive results. Gross product in the province (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 8.16% over the same period last year, ranking 4th out of 14 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.

Agricultural, forestry and fishery production takes place in weather conditions that are basically favorable for the growth and development of plants and animals. The added value of the entire industry increased by 3.17% over the same period. Industrial production prospered, growing 14.58% over the same period, thanks to the significant contribution of a number of large-scale enterprises in operation and the stability of production and market expansion of enterprises. Commercial and service business activities grew quite well, meeting market demand. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated to increase by 14.4% over the same period.

Representatives of the Provincial Statistics Department introduced the publication of the Phu Tho Provincial Statistical Yearbook 2023.

Total realized investment capital for the whole society at current prices is estimated at VND21,465 billion, up 14.5% over the same period. Well-controlled construction material prices, along with a favorable investment environment, contribute to accelerating the construction progress of works and projects. Social fields are maintained, meeting the learning and medical examination and treatment needs of the people well; social security policies are implemented fully and promptly. Political security, social order, and safety are maintained. The labor and employment situation is stable; the number of workers currently working in the province is 714,800, accounting for 98.8% of the total labor force.

Also in the program, leaders of the Provincial Statistics Department introduced some basic information about investigating and collecting information on the socio-economic situation of 53 ethnic minorities in 2024; introducing the publication of the Phu Tho Provincial Statistical Yearbook 2023; Introducing new points of Decree 62/2024/ND-CP dated June 7, 2024, of the government related to instructions for implementing a number of articles of the Law on Statistics and the content of statistical targets.

At the press conference, leaders of the Provincial Statistics Department discussed and clarified a number of issues of interest to delegates and reporters from press agencies in the province, such as indexes and data of some industry or field, growth in the industrial sector, the value of exports and imports of goods, etc.
